Steve Spurrier thinks Alabama can beat NFL teams

Alabama, gosh, they look like they could beat a couple of those NFL teams that I've watched on Sundays

Most of the players on Alabama are "pros" so why not?

Dunno, Jacksonville would need another draft to get ready for that kind of challenge.

ANY NFL team would destroy them. As I heard Pete Carroll say this morning, the biggest difference would be on the offensive and defensive lines.

LOL at spurrier. Any NFL team would destroy Bama 10 times out of 10.

I'd have to agree, more then a few teams.

Any NFL team would beat any college team. Further, no college team could even score against an NFL team.

The Jaguars would blow out Bama. It starts and ends with line play. Bama's d-line couldn't possibly hold up against an NFL o-line, and vise versa.

    EC gets it.

I saw a guy in vegas tweet the jags would be favored by 24 vs bama on a neutral field, no chance they could put up a fight vs an nfl team.

Translation: Bama can beat what is Spurrier's idea of an NFL team, which is why Spurrier doesn't have an NFL job.

    Just think about this:

maybe 25% of a super college team like Bama will play in the NFL
    ...

100% of the Jaguars players already play in the NFL

    who would you take?

NFL teams are college all star teams. Too much depth and much more developed players, it'd be a blow out.

Best college basketball team against worst NBA team is a slightly more valid argument. Last years Kentucky team against the historically bad Bobcats would have been close.

    Alabama -7.5 versus the Jets.

Anyone who thinks this is true knows nothing about football.

    *cough* post above me.

Just typical trolling by him, why those posts are allowed here is beyond me.

But to subject of thread, agreed. People said that Bama could compete with Jags? Hmmm didn't Jacksonville just go into Lambeau and give one of the best teams in football a tough game? Even as bad as Chiefs look, their talent level outside of QB is so far beyond that of a college team it's not even comparable....
