Kotite is a little strong. But this is much worse than anything Herm or Mangini ever did.

This is kind of like Carroll after the spike game. But which game was Rex's spike game?

    SOJ.
Actually Gates was a Jets pre-draft visit so that usually means they liked him too. FWIW.

Last night. Dressing a QB who wasn't healthy enough to play while deactivating a QB that could.

    Bye Rex!

Coach Rex Ryan confirmed that WR Clyde Gates sustained a concussion versus the Patriots Thursday night.
Gates left just before halftime, playing 29-of-72 snaps. Stephen Hill led the Jets with 46 snaps while Jeremy Kerley played 45 and Chaz Schilens 40. Gates will have 10 days to gain clearance for Week 13 versus the Cardinals.

Thanks for the correction, C Mart. Let me return the favor. We could all use some Natasha to cheer us up today.

Gates is fast and does NOTHING else. Classic example of a speed guy who coaches think they coach up, but the guy is talent less as a receiver.
Jets coaches have a tendency to "want" guy from a team they formerly coached. Its another problem with this organization.

But you are wrong in this case..As I stated Gates was a predraft vistor to the Jets, which usually means they like him..Notice their first three selections were Wilk, Ellis and Powell....

With less than two weeks before the NFL draft, the Jets have brought 25 prospects for visits to their Florham Park facility, according to team announcements. Of the two dozen, 16 are defensive players, an indication this could be a defensive-minded draft -- which, of course, would shock no one.

More visitors could be on the way. Each team is allowed 30 non-local visits.

UPDATE: DT Corey Liuget (Illinois) also visited, sources said. His name wasn't on the list released by the Jets.

Here's a breakdown by position (potential first rounders are linked):

    Running back: Bilal Powell (Louisville)

Wide receiver: Randall Cobb (Kentucky), Edmond Gates (Abilene Christian), Denarius Moore (Tennessee),

    Tight end: Martell Webb (Michigan),

Offensive tackle: Gabe Carimi (Wisconsin), Ray Dominguez (Arkansas), Jah Reid (Central Florida),

    Center: Brandon Fusco (Slippery Rock)

Defensive tackle: Phil Taylor (Baylor), Kendrick Ellis (Hampton), Sione Fua (Stanford)

    Defensive end: Muhammad Wilkerson (Temple).

Outside linebacker: Ryan Kerrigan (Purdue), Akeem Ayers (UCLA), Justin Houston (Georgia), Sam Acho (Texas), Dontay Moch (Nevada)

Inside linebacker: Martez Wilson (Illinois), Elijah "Peanut" Joseph (Temple), Jeff Tarpinian (Iowa)

    Safety: Jaiquawn Jarrett (Temple),

Cornerback: Jimmy Smith (Colorado), Chykie Brown (Texas), Josh Thomas (Buffalo),

All you need to know about Clyde Gates is "Tony Sparano thought he has great potential". Enough said.

It's a start. I endorse the move, especially Sparano's exit.

there has to be better options and players available.

when we all sit back and scrutinize what the hell is going on here look no further than the players tanny and rex have assembled on this team.

clyde gates and others wouldnt make the practice squad on other teams in the nfl.
Rex and everybody saw him get cut on Hard Knocks this year, and who knows, Sparano probably had him in Miami last year also, and we all know how high powered that offense was when Sparano was there...
