Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be?
No NFL Coach can say "our goal is to suck, judge our #3's, and get as higha draft pick as possible" and stay employed mate.
He has to say that, or at the very least think it. Although he probably should be saying we're just focusing on Arizona and we're taking it week to week. Rex can't resist the big picture bravado media clips though. Until this team puts together an actual winning streak and several good performances in a row, his talk is so empty though. He knows this deep down.
3-2 AT BEST.....PROBABLY 2-3
I hope Rex did not burn too much midnight oil coming up with that gem...
Because GMC is annoying...
Rex Ryan said he didn't receive any messages of sympathy from friends, family or fellow coaches after the 49-19 loss on Thanksgiving. He spent the long weekend, in his words, "reliving the nightmare."
But Ryan is also aware that there is a small, ever thinning chance that the Jets could run the table and make it to the playoffs. Despite everything, he takes solace in the chance to start over.
"Oh heck yeah," Ryan said of thinking about running the table. "That's your goal, there's no question. Absolutely that's what you're trying to do. But our goal was also to bet New England and that didn't work out. Of course you want to, that's why you play."
Typically one for bombast in these situations, a more docile Ryan made it clear that he was not guaranteeing a spot in the playoffs and was careful about making it seem that way.
Although the five remaining games -- Arizona, Jacksonville, Tennessee, San Diego and Buffalo -- are winnable ones, he said the team cannot get caught looking past the present, where a horde of communication issues and breakdowns need to be patched.
"I'm not going to make a 'Ryan guarantees playoffs' type of deal. We have to get better, and that starts right now," Ryan said. "You can't look down the road, of course you'd like to run the table. It's human nature to say 'I see what's on our schedule, we've got to win all five, we gotta do this we gotta do that,' but we've got to win this game. That's where the focus is."
Sky is blue, grass is green.
Some people will find a way to ***** though..
This guy really need to stop talking.
He will not survive to see the first game of his 5th NFL Season.
He'll be out of the league due to injury before that point.
He will never win a single playoff game in his career.
BOLD!!!! DARING!!!! PREDIIIIIIIIIIIIICTIONS!!!!!!!!!
Rex: "5 for 5".
"So shall it be written. So shall it be done".
By the hand of the Lord.
How about winning one game. Next week. Can you do that, Mongo?
Your team sure as heck hasnt thrived on your bogus, grandious bloviating, so think small, dinkus. Win a game.
Maybe he was misheard and running to the table was his goal
Actually, the Jets can do it but it would be like flipping a switch this week. The Jets would have to do a 180.
