To anyone about to say Jets could use Babin? I'd agree, but it's a "batteries not included thing." He's a package deal w/Jim Washburn.

Amazing....they gave this guy big money and had a great year last year and now they let him go right in the middle of the season.

    Sh!t changes right quick, huh?

Except for us, who hold tight no matter how bad it's doing.

Meanwhile, how much could we have used his 5.5 sacks and 26 tackles?

Something about this front office has a sweet spot for players that dominated us in prior seasons.

    No.

The "wide 9" is as big a fraud as Rex.

Jason Babin's base salary for this year is $5.575 million. Any team claiming him on waivers would pick up the $1.64 million in salary left.

And even though $1.64 million may not seem like a lot, for 5 games of work, it is ... so pretty decent chance that Babin clears waivers.

Could make sense for a team headed to the playoffs, with cap room to spare, and with a defensive style that fits Babin.

    Not a 4-7 team.

@WilliamsonNFL: I get it....poor vs run, questionable effort, hot & cold guy, see if another team jumps on him to take salary....but Babin can rush QB

No reason to this year. He's 32 and clearly lost some of his game, no point in bringing him in for 5 games.

He had 18 sacks last year. He is worth more then a look! Sign him up. Only problem is that he will have the opportunity to go to a contender so we would have to pay him a substantial amount more then that team.

Do we need a 43 DE, or do you think we can convert him to an OLB at 32 years old?
