LOL. You see Bart running in coverage on Thursday? Good lord, was that an embarrassment. Yet, he's still here. So let's all still chant the "trust in Rex" mantra.

    Philadelphia eagles announce

And in other news, mike tannenbaum gave contract extensions to all jet defensive lineman so their feelings won't be hurt in case he decides to pick Babin up

Most over rated DE ever IMO. He couldn't stop a toddler from running right by him. We should be cutting people not claiming them right now. I still say cut Pace, Scott, and Eric Smith right now.

It's being reported that Rex has made him the captain in hopes he picks us once he clears waivers.

Guy had to be juicing! How in the hell do u go from 18 sacks to 4?
I'm sure eagles figured that out too. Don't be surprised that NFL unveils an upcoming 4 game suspension.

Pace was a juicer too, guy effing sucked when he got caught & went off the juice but the Jets got enamored & paid the guy a fortune.
Teams should be able to sue & cancel contracts based on players not actually being what they appear.
So Pace got suspended for 4 games?
It really only hurt the Jets, because of Pace cheating he appeared to be a better stronger player than what the Jets paid for. Isn't that a form of fraud?
Does he get the massive contract without cheating?

    +1

Babin is a one trick pony and can only rush the passer from a package that the NFL has finally figured out. 18 sacks to 5.5 proves how far he fell. Plus I've had about enough of trying to convert old DEs to OLBs.

That is not how claims work. More likely he ends up on a crap team we play on the back end like Jax or Tenn.

Funny that this is the same exact thing Jets fans were saying about John Abraham 6 years ago. Trading him probably cost this team at least 1 Super Bowl Appearance and put us in a position with no pass rush to this very day.

Mangold? Please, Jonathan Goodwin was #2 on our depth chart at that time and he went on to be a pretty good Center for Saints and 49ers.

Jets can pick up the option while he's on waivers. Picking up Babin would actually be a good move:

    1) Babin is a better pass rusher than anyone on our roster with the exception of Wilkerson (even at 5.5 sacks in 11 games this season)

    2) Babin has 3 years and about $16 mil left on his deal after this season which is actually pretty reasonable for a pass rushing DE who got 18 sacks last season and 12 before that.

    3) Babin is 32 but pass rushing 4-3 DE's play at a high level into their late 30's (Strahan, Bruce Smith, Reggie White). DE's rely more on strength and technique which can be maintained and even improved upon with experience and conditioning.

    4) You need multiple pass rushers. Giants, Steelers, Texans etc. all have at least 2-3 excellent pass rushing DE's.

    5) We are changing to a 4-3 next season. (Pace, Scott and maybe Harris are goners. Demario Davis can play in a 4-3)

    6) Putting Babin on the opposite side of Coples on a D-line in a 4-3 is the best thing you can do for Coples and our pass rush. They will help eachother.

    7) Pass rushers do not grow on trees.

Babin is a revolving door in a 4-3 which is why he has been cut. He is the king of missed and broken tackles. Pass rusher or not I wouldn't use him for anything more then a 3rd and long option. Which means he is just anther Maybin IMO. Given that he isn't worth the money it would take for us to claim him.

Give me a break you're comparing a guy who has 35+ sacks the last 3 years to Aaron Maybin. Pass rushing DE's have down years all the time - Michael Strahan had some mediocre years for the Giants only to bounce back. 3 years $16 million for a player who is a better pass rusher than anything we've had since Abraham is absolutely reasonable and I could care less what you say.

Babin is no HOF talent. He is an aging one trick pony. Sacks are sexy yeah I get it but he hasn't made the Eagles D any better the last 2 years. He had one good year in Tenn. I'd rather bring Abe back. He is still a better DE.

Impossible, you will have to prove that he was on the juice unknown to you before the contract. Short of videos shooting up in the posterior, fat chance.

Plus part of the cba is that if a player is caught, what the max punishment could be. You can already cut a player at any time. The question should be why did Tanny guarantee his money to him for this year
