11:48AM EST December 1. 2012 - Police are investigating two shootings Saturday morning, involving a Kansas City Chiefs player and his girlfriend. Local Kansas City TV station KCTV 5 reports that the 25-year-old Chiefs player committed suicide outside the team's practice facility after killing his girlfriend.

Kansas City police Supervisor Andrea Khan could not release the name of the player involved. The condition of the two parties was not immediately known.
Khan said the first shooting happened in a Kansas City, Mo., neighborhood and the second happened at Arrowhead Stadium, about five miles away, at about 8 a.m. Saturday.
The Chiefs have released the following statement:
"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning. We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."
The incident was first reported by FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, who tweeted that"players are being told to go Stadium for team meeting on what has gone down but more details I'm getting, not a good situation."
The Chiefs are scheduled to host the Panthers at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. The Charlotte Observer's Joe Person tweeted that the NFL has has advised the Panthers to travel as planned.
