To put it simply, they liked him as that odd type of player/reliever. They don't like him as long term starter.

Can't blame them and pretty much agree with it.

tebow was brought in to work in tandem with sanchez, not necessarily any other qb who may start if sanchez left or was benched. if mcelroy is a competent game manager, there's no need for tebow. plus, not many other qbs would tolerate that type of arrangement anyway.

Agreed. Even if Rex thinks McElroy has nothing (and what does Rex know about QB anyway?), Sanchez needs to be mercy benched for this game. The crowd will be ruthless.

Could care less about the crowd... For the most part they suck anyway.

The reason for starting Mcelroy should be to win games and to understand as much as you can about him before this offseason. We need to find a QB and if they think McElroy has no chance at starting next year, then get rid of him. At least we'll get a couple of games to help make that determination.

The crowd doesn't suck, the team does. Hell, even Tirico and Gruden wanted to boo, if they could have stopped their fits of laughter. If Sanchez takes the field, the crowd should boo every second until he is benched. Plain and simple. That said, no one will even show up to this game unless they are looking for a reason to leave the house and get loaded for the holidays.

More than anything I want Sanchez benched. But at this point I want them to start just so we can boo him.

I honestly think he'll be booed worse than I have ever heard any player be booed in any sport at any time.

Mark Sanchez gives this team its best shot at a top 10 draft pick.

    He better start.

    Feel bad for Jet Nation.

Stuck with Suckchez due to $$$$$$$$$ next year.

Tebow isn't the answer and has another couple of years.

    McElroy is an unknown.

They have to find out what McElroy brings to the table. They already KNOW what the other 2 QB's bring. No playoffs so the worst that can happen by starting McElroy is improving draft position.

Jets probably won't draft a QB early in April but sign one that's already on a roster somewhere.

    What a Muckin Fess

There is no way Sanchez starts on Sunday. As a matter of fact, I think Tebow and McElroy dress.

Who cares that Sanchez is on the team next year. People act like they HAVE to start him due to that fact.

He'll be here because of the money, but he'll absolutely not be starting.

The Chargers could out-tank us no matter who we play. If they can lose 31-7 at home to the Panthers, anything is possible.

Oh how I wish this SD game was still on national TV so the FO can be embarrassed again.

It will get ugly if Sanchez trots his sorry ass out there to start

Mark and Rex will get eviscerated.

If Rex has the nerve to do that, (and who knows, the stubborn fat ass might,) I will enjoy contributing to the venom that comes out of the stands towards our clueless Coach and FO...It will be louder than the loudest of J E T S chants...It will be fun, also...

Talking JETS DECLINED PIECE BY PIECE; BAD DECISIONS ALL AROUND

-- None of us fans REALLY know what will happen next year. ODDS are pretty good that Sparano will be gone and there will be wholesale changes to this team. BUT-- Sanchez has a 17 million cap hit if we let him go; Will Woody do it. ? Stay tuned.
If Sanchez does go---I'm going to remember Sanchez him as the guy who was handed a loaded team and then had it drop out on him piece by piece until he was no longer good enough to lead it.
