Woody turning into jerry Jones before our eyes....without the rings

The bigger story is that Tannenfraud and Sporano want Sanchez. Rex will be influenced by those 2 blowhards and we will be back to the snackchez next week. Yay......

Let's see... Tannenbaum is the closest to be fired. Sporano has been a disaster. They want Sanchez who has been terrible.

    The owner wants McElroy.

If you're Rex, who are you starting?

No brainer for someone who wants to keep his job.

woody wants whoever will generate headlines. right now that guy is mcelroy.

tannenbaum wants rex to play whoever he's drafted in the hopes they'll play better and save his job. that's why the OL coach has to play ducasse.

rex wants to win, i truly believe this. he's definitely loyal to sanchez, i believe rex knows mark has put in the time and effort and feels bad that sanchez can't get it done. he's in the middle here.

if this were a home game, no way mark gets the start. since it's not, i can definitely see Rex giving Mark a chance to redeem himself, but with a quick hook.

First, if I am Woody I say start who you feel "gives us the best chance to win". I will trust your decision, but keep in mind your jobs could rest with what ever choice you make. Let see who this these clowns chose to start then.
As far as GMac coming in COLD and not having the best passes, with NO snaps under center during the week
Two drives in a little over a quarter of play that would have scored TD's against the seventh rank D. All this while not turning the ball over in his VERY FIRST GAME, I would consider a very impressive audition and deserving of a least a chance to show more.

He's got at least 1/3 chance of being right on this one.
Pisses me off seeing him in the locker room post game.

what's the point of having a quick hook? sanchez couldn't get his team to score any points last week (yes, they missed 2 fgs). what's a quick hook, how many series? it's done. sanchez has looked defeated most of the season. his confidence is likely as low as it's been here. why would you start this guy again?

This is probably as close to the truth as we're likely to get.

because he's guaranteed to either be on the roster in 2013, or cost a boatload to move.

I agree with you that Mark should be done here. I also saw Rex consoling Mark in the locker room after the game. I can see Rex hoping that being benched might wake Mark up, and he might play more motivated and focused this week... throw him out there, give him a chance. I don't think it's right, but I could see it happening.

According to the Daily News, Jets owner Woody Johnson "prefers" Greg McElroy to be the starting quarterback.

McElroy guided the Jets to a win in a relief role last week, so Johnson appears smitten. The report also says that GM Mike Tannenbaum and OC Tony Sparano prefer Mark Sanchez. None of these heavy hitters want Tim Tebow under center. Ultimately, the final decision will be in the hands of head coach Rex Ryan, who has shown silly amounts of loyalty to Mark Sanchez over the two seasons. We're expecting a decision here by Wednesday.
This sounds like a story that is leaked to protect Mark's feelings.
Good guy Rex will put his arm around Mark and say "It's not me, it's the guy upstairs."

This may be the first time I have agreed with Woody since the Westside Stadium.

This controversy has to be media hype. I refuse to believe it's real.

    To recap:
With Sanchez at the helm the Jets were twice held without an offensive touchdown this year(SF and Seattle).

They Jets were on the verge of closing out a third game without a score when McElroy comes in and scores on his first drive. Then he gets to the 1 yard line on his fourth drive.

Sanchez has turned the ball over 18 times so far this year.

    Then there's the butt fumble.

There's no redeeming himself this year. Let Sanchez sit, learn, reset and hopefully bounce back next year.

lol. Mark may have to sit through next year also.

Hopefully Rex can bring in a specialist to help teach Mark how to not run into asses.

In the past, they brought in a slide specialist and a sleep specialist.

It's time to book an "Ass Avoidance Expert".
