There is no need to watch. We all know what he is going to say.

Just started a thread with the link. That way, folks can comment in there instead of wading through this one.

Umm, a really obscure QB named Steve Young ?

Maybe this lights a fire under Mark. You never know.

Remember a couple years ago when Donovan McNabb was stinking up the joint in Philly and Reid benched him for Kevin Kolb? I lit a fire under him and he played very well for the rest of the season.

Even Kolb himself was lighting it up this season after being benched by Skelton, until he got hurt.

I say let's see what happens. You never know.

Obviously, we can't ride this wagon forever, but why shut him down now? Is there really a QB in this upcoming draft that you feel that sure about?
At this time last year who was sure about russell wislon?
At this time 2 years ago, who was sure of Andy Dalton?

There are guys out there. They do not have to be top 5 picks.

    Find them!

    +1

At least when we suck we are entertaining. Have to give them credit for that.

Those games were before he was benched.

BTW, just to be clear, I'm not saying that I'd do the same thing if I was in Rex's shoes. Rather, it's just that I understand the position and it does make some sense. Comes down to personal choice.

I swear to God if we don't at least draft a QB in the mid rounds or bring in a legitimate veteran in the off-season to compete I'm going to burn every Jets item I own until Tannenbaum is gone.

I prefer Mcelroy to be the starter but if he is going to make Sanchez the starter AT LEAST say that Mcelroy is the backup and that Tebow is no longer the backup QB.

From the page I cited earlier:

The $17 mil is his total cap charge for 2013 and 2014. If we cut him outright before next season, we take a $17 mil hit. If we cut him on the June 1 date (?), the cap hit gets divided between 2 seasons, ~$12 mil in 2012, and the remainder in 2014.

If we trade him via the scenario already discussed, we end up saving $4.3 million in cap space overall.
Yes, correct, but he still costs 12.8 million.

Still with the "Mark gives us a better chance to win" mantra.

Is it me, or does Rex look a tad frazzled.
