Cimini: "Rex was set to activate all three QBs on Sunday"

    http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jet...medium=twitter

Rex Ryan said he was set to activate all three quarterbacks Sunday against the Jaguars, but he made a last-minute change because McKnight developed a migraine on the morning of the game. Ryan decided to drop QB Greg McElroy from the 46-man active roster, replacing him with fourth-string RB Kahlil Bell -- insurance in case McKnight couldn't make it through the game.
"I've always said I don't like to dress three quarterbacks, but I was actually going to do it today," Ryan said.

The question is, why dress 3 QBs Rex?? You clearly were not using Tebow in any wildcat or special teams roles, so why dress HIM ? Another inept decision by Rex.

Why is he so reticent to dress 3 QBs? If any team should, it's this one.

He is so painfully unaware of his own situation it's disgusting.

Remember Pennington/Fiedler back to back sacks-to-IR?

The guy is flat out inept. He's too much of a players coach and it's gotten to the point where he won't play either backup because they present too much of a threat to Mark's job and, in result, brings Rex's ability to evaluate talent into question.

Why dress 3 QBs?? Either your #2 comes in when the starter is injured or playing poorly, or he doesnt. If you are not going to play him if the starter goes down then he is not your #2, he is the 3. What possible reason is there for dressing 3 QBs?

That happens what, once every 50 years?? You dont dress 3 QBs because you are afraid two of them might get hurt.

Totally predictable for Penningon of cours.

In comes Fiedler, smiles all around, finally someone who can zing it...

Simple -- our #2 QB is not a QB. He's a glorified gimmick with a bad arm and cracked ribs. Do you really think that is a viable option to back up a starter who has struggled mightily? The truth is, Tebow is a wasted roster spot. So as I said, if any team needs 3 QBs it's this one.

    I know.

It's pathetic how the QB situation is being handled.

I agree at this point, but WHY dress him then? They dont use him in the wildcat anymore, they dont use him as a punt protector, there is no logical reason to dress Tebow at this point. Dressing 3 QBs just leaves you thin at another position.

    That's the million dollar question.

I feel for Gmac, coming in last week and pulling it out the bag to now be in a T-shirt while Sanchez and Tebow do practically nothing (or literally nothing in Tebows case).

Personally I believe Rex had to activate Tebow for the Jacksonville game.....ordered by Woody.

There were many tickets sold to see Tebow play, and if he's inactive that's a problem for Jacksonville. As a Jets fan IDGAF about that, but for some reason I believe Woody does.

That's my theory and Im sticking to it!

The babying of Mark Sanchez continues. Why not sit Tebow and dress McElroy since Tebow is not a QB, he's a runner? Because they don't want Mark looking over his shoulder. See the rest of the season is about getting Mark's confidence up, not about winning. I am starting believe Rex is Mark's uncle, not his coach. Pathetic

Just my opinion with no sources Mehta like but

I think Mr Khan called Mr Johnson and explained that bringing Teblow down to Jax and putting him out in uniform would result in sales of up to 10000 walkup.seats for this game and eliminate the home blackout and allow him to remove the tarp from at least one section netting him more than a million marginal dollars for the one game He then offered that if they dressed Teblow he would offer the Jets a draft choice to be determined at the end of this season to take Teblow off their hands as opposed to just waiving him
