Braylon Tells SNY What He Wants for Christmas

He said without hesitation that what he wants is a Long Term Deal with the JETS and finish his career with them.

Two weeks ago the Jets were idiots for benching his BFF #6. Monday night he caught a cold and 1% of the passes thrown to him from his BFF. Now rumors swirl that his BFF might be traded and he wants a long term contract with the Jets?

Please don't try to sell me crazy, we're all stocked up here.

No shot he gets a multi-year contract. He would have to perform all next year at close to vet min. and then maybe get a two-year deal after that. He will be 30 next year.

That's the most realistic scenario, DDNY.

He gets a 1-year Vet deal in 2013 to prove that he still can help this team(and that his so-called knee issues aren't an...issue...anymore). And if he performs well, THEN he'll most likely get a 2-year-extension or something.

Braylon CAN'T be picky at this point of his career.

You have an unhealthy hatred of Braylon. It must stem from your love of Tone.. I don't get it.

I would love to see braylon in NY long term. The problem is he isn't deserving of that. At most, he should be given a two year contract at close to vet minimum with escalators for certain achievements both team wise and individually.

    This.

I think a really intriguing question to ask braylon would be: What is it that makes you want to be in NY as a Jet now and in the past so badly?

If it was Sanchez, then somebody needs to show him some film of Sanchez this year since he could be on his way out the door.

Regardless of whether he can get signed long term or not, it's nice to see he wants to be here. He played well and enjoyed himself. I think that's why he wants a long term deal. Sign him for 1 or 2 years at around $1 million per and see what happens.

He said in a interview Mark doesn't believe in himself anymore the same thing that many of us said he lost all confidence as a player..

Probably. I think Sanchez's regression is more Rex's inability to develop players than anything else. Sanchez has raw talent, but no coaching over 4 years to harness it. At this point, he's probably just a backup, which is unfortunate. He puts the time in. He just doesn't have anyone to guide him. Cavanaugh's a bad qb coach and Rex has no clue about offense.
