    Really...he laughs.

This is fascinating. What other expressions of emotion did he employ.... and at what point. I want to get into this Grateful Dead replacement band... and this is just the sort of compelling narrative of "their stuff" that would draw me in.

    I need a miracle.

Is this meant to be funny, or just mean spirited?

Calling them a "Grateful Dead replacement band" just shows you're not ready and couldn't handle their "stuff." Keep on masturbating to your "Best of the Eagles and Pitbull" LP's and you'll be fine.

The Dead and Phish have way more differences than similarities. Listen to the latter for a while and you'll see.

I'm sure you are right, but on the surface they come across as some sort of Dead spawn.

On one of my better Floyd bootlegs, they are playing "Have a Cigar" when Roger and Dave just bust out laughing mid-verse, and can't seem to stop. They actually stop the vocals for a few bars to get their **** together, it's quite funny actually.

Agree 1,000%. I like the Dead. I loathe Phish. The music is vaguely similar, in that both plays "Jams", but the Dead are, at their heart, a Country Rock band who likes space rock, Phish is an avant garde jazz band who accidentally the rock and roll. The fanbase is more similar than the bands are tbqh.

Haha - I never thought about that, but they both have songs about monkeys on a train. Not sure if that quite makes them copycats, but it is kind of funny.

FWIW, I like Monkey and the Engineer better.

I remember there was nothing worse than banging a dead fish, except banging no fish at all.
