Everyone's still gunna close their eyes/ears and say "la la la, I can't hear you, fire Rex because he hasn't done anything for us lately so let's rag on his personal life"
The problem is, at least for me, firing Rex wouldn't be about this year's record.
There are a lot of issues with this team and he has a strong hand in it, his handling of the QB situation, personnel decisions, four years of watching time outs getting wasted because players don't know if they should be on the field or not.
I don't see Rex improving as a head coach since he came on.
The Tebow and QB fiasco this year put my faith in his ability to right this ship at an all-time low.
I'm willing to see what the new GM does with him, Rex will have a one year audition with whoever the Jets bring in. If he shows the same level of incompetence in areas he should be growing in, then he has to go.
We don't need a cheerleader who can come up with 1,000 different blitz packages. We need a head coach with a clear vision on the direction this team is going in and with a strong hand on both sides of the ball.
Thank you. It's not easy standing up for a guy like Rex. But it's only after he's gone and we spend another 10 years cycling through Cosletts, Herms, and Kotites that we'll say, "you know, if we only got that guy Rex a decent Quarterback. How short-sighted the Jets were to dump him from his first head coaching gig, just like we did with Pete Carroll."
5) Cursing a fan out for saying Bellicheck was better than him.
6) Tatto of his wife wearing a Mark Sanchez jersey
Anything I'm missing?
7) dressing up as brother to hold a press conference added by (REDDOG2004)
8) Brett Favre texting masseuses added by (Vinny Testaverde's Niece)
9) Stating "Mark Sanchez going to be our quarterback for as long as I am here, which I hope is a long, long time. We know we got the right guy."
After what's gone down in this country in the last 6 months alone, this is child's play man. Players committing suicide and DWI's all this **** is all part of the world we live in. Its small, tiny potatoes. And nothing wrong with # 1, just a long time married couple having fun. Sports talk radio has made following sports like a god damm soap opera. UGGGHHH!!!!
I agree that name calling with regards to other forum members shouldn't be tolerated. But when some poster accuses an Nfl head coach of being involved in an illicit affair with his quarterback, thats way beyond the pale.People like that should be suspended from participating or a time.
It's well deserved for having a unnatural sexual obsession with the bust QB he so proudly traded up to get. Oh and a preemptive strike for starting Sanchez next year. Come on we all know if given any chance Rex will start Sanchez over any QB that's in "competition" with him.
Sanchez has never had a QB in "competition" with him. He's never been challenged for the job.
Mark Sanchez's days as QB of the NYJ are over. Even if he sticks with the roster next season, and there's a good chance of that considering the money situation, he'll never start.
Rex was loyal to a fault. However, I still believe the Titans game broke him. That look of betrayal he had after that game told it all. He didn't even want to look at Sanchez.
Besides, the new GM will get another QB in here and it will be an open QB competition.
