    Woody's GM search Master Plan

1- Hire Korn/Ferry to find the top 20 GM candidates. Pay them $200k.

2- Let the six other teams looking for a GM hire who they want while patiently waiting on the sideline.

3- While biding your time, give the biggest lame ass press conference in Jet history since the hiring of Rich Kotite - gotta rile up the fan base!

    4- Interview candidates 7 through 20.

Now that you have leverage (since there are no more teams looking for a GM), find the top rated guy still left who is willing to come here, probably at a bargain rate. You recoup the 200k you're paying K/F with a lower GM salary than you may otherwise have been forced to pay. Have another press conference. You tell the fans that you did your due diligence and got the guy we targeted. He will fit in great with Rex. We'll draft aggressively, getting guys that will play like a Jet. All is great! We'll sell out all games! PSL's will be investment gold!

Way to go Woody - pure genius!!

So after the top names are gone, we're going to pick from the leftovers? GENIUS.

We need to do this in the draft, too. Just trade all the way down so we can pick up some elite talent that no one else wants.

You got to get the right guy, if one of the candidates blew them away, Woody would have wrote the check. There are more than 5 guys out there with the required qualifications. The jets still have a full compliment of Scouts for the Senior and Shrine games, and enough coaches to attend both games and practices. The jets don't have a lot of personnel moves to make that requires any level of sophistication. Pace, Scott, both Smiths need to be cut so that the team is under the cap at the start of the league year in a month from now. All the other moves can wait.
