Is VY worth a training camp look?

    Interesting read.
Based on the evolving NFL QBs (RG3, Kaepernick, Wilson) you think the Jets should take a look at Vince Young?
    Are they that desperate yet?
Not sure if it's worth it, wonder if he's matured?

The NFL is all about the quarterback.

This is not news to anyone. It has been that way for years, and it is the case now more than ever. There are the rules that favor the passing game. There are more big, fast, hyper-athletic wide receivers coming into the league every year, and teams increasingly find new ways to involve tight ends in the passing attack as well.

Thatís why in 2011 Drew Brees, Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford all passed for more than 5,000 yards ó an unprecedented trifecta that had statisticians scrambling to keep their spreadsheets current. Thatís why this fall Detroitís Calvin Johnson set the league record for receiving yards in a season with 1,964.

Simply put: You canít win in the NFL without a high-quality quarterback. Just ask the Arizona Cardinals or the Kansas City Chiefs or the New York Jets or any number of other teams......

Hes terrible. RG3 and Russell wilson being great players has no bearing on vince young. He stinks.

he couldnt handle the pressure in TEN
    he would crumble in NY

If the light goes on, his upside is greater than anyone but Smith. But I do not think the jets have the locker room to support this guy.

    Heís got a bad arm.
    Doesnít work hard.
    Heís never in shape.
    Mentally weak.
    Not a leader.
    Not very accurate.
Doesnít have the legs he once had.
Has shown less in 7 years than Sanchez has in 4.

    Sound like our guy!

Except he'd be coming here as the #2 or #3 on the depth chart and would cost us the league minimum versus spending $3-5 mil on some scrub like Kyle Orton.

And our lockeroom supported Suckchez and Teblow? Compared to those two Young would probably be a welcome change.
