@ProFootballWkly: RT @LesBowen: I'm hearing Ken Whisenhunt goes to Denver as OC to replace Mike McCoy...

What an easy job that is. Just throw with Peyton.

Seriously. Manning is a steal at whatever he's getting paid since he's effectively the offensive coordinator wherever he goes.

Former Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt will become offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers.

In seriousness, we are really getting down to a thin group of potential OCs and QB coaches.

I have no idea who pep hamilton would bring aboard as his QB coach.

Hue Jackson is still out there which is good, as he shoudl be a quality possibility, but again, not sure who he brings along as QBC.

Jeff Tedford, also still not signed on anywhere....still an interesting choice IMO.

I certainly want nothing to do with mornhweig.

    Any other possibilities?

I vote for Tom Moore or Hue Jackson. Moore was already here and he would be fine with possibility of Rex being canned and this only being 1 year gig. Another possibility is Saints OC Pete Carmichael, his contract is expiring and he is being interviewed by Jacksonville.

I don't get why Whiz would go to SD. Wouldn't McCoy want playcalling in SD in all likelihood?

Probably believes Rivers can, once again, be a Pro Bowl star with his offense.

whisenhunt would be a good choice. but even he wouldn't have a chance unless the jets can get a decent qb.

The hire does a lot of things.

    Staff looks like this.

    Ken Whisenhunt-Offensive Coordinator/Assistant Head Coach
    Russ Grimm-Offensive Line Coach
    Frank Reich-Quarterbacks Coach
    Mike Miller-Wide Receivers Coach

You get the oc with the superbowl resume, potential future head coach with northeast/jets background. You get a very good QB coach/passing game upgrade with Reich and Miller and Grimm coaches up 3 good lineman in Brick, Mangold and Howard. You also set the stage for Bill Cowher in 2014.

How is this not the best possible scenario for the Jets in 2013 and beyond.

offensive minded HC and an NFL QB, sad for Broncos and Jets fans but a great fit for the Chargers

they seem to be winning the offseason NIT Championship
