If freestyle bikes count I had a GT Performer to which I added Pro Performer handlebars with A'me grips, locking brake handles, a Gyro, Peregrine mags, fokstanders and front and rear pegs.

    Redline

Couldn't find a picture of mine. Crimson and black.

We didn't wear helmets or pads back in the golden days either.

My dad spent about $300 on white GT Performer for me back in probably 1986. That was alot of money for my family back then. 2 weeks later, went to the candy store to get some baseball cards etc. Didnt lock the bike up. Came out 5 minutes later........bike gone.

Im surprised my father didnt kill me that day.

I'm jealous, I always wanted the Schwinn, pea shooter or something like that, had the stick shift (which in retrospect was probably treacherous) I had some immo from JJ Newberrys

Only had Frankenstein bikes... mismatched wheels, poppin innertubes front and back, bending forks and bars, warping wheels... sometimes one pedal, occasionally without a seat... Never a helmet or pads unless you a total puss... home made ramps and it was always goin down at the dips. GT frames were light, bigger jumps. One time my homie TJ landed too hard on his front wheel and handlebars flipped down and he went face first straight to the ground. Nose broke his fall though. Had some teeth go through his lip, don't think he actually lost any though. His older sister looks good these days!
