Cheers to a ****ty season from Philthy and ****sburgh...
Someone had to start it.
A few thoughts.
Very pleased that Sather wrapped up Del Zotto for two years at a fair number. I personally wanted to keep him. I think we forget sometimes that he's only 22. He still has a ton of upside. He simply needs to cut down on his mental mistakes. I felt his defensive game improved greatly last year. In two years I think we'll know one way or the other if this kid is the real deal or not. Perfect deal.
I expect there could be a slow start for the #1 line. One week is pretty short to get it all together. But it sure will be exciting to see what Richards, Gabby and Nash can do together.
Looking forward to watching Kreider. Looking forward to watching Hagelin.
Gilroy was a nice signing. He can step in on the 3rd pairing to spell Eminger or he may win that job outright. Bickel could also be in the mix. Personally, I hope he is because I love his toughness and the way he sticks up for his teammates. I'm also glad they brought Stralman back. I think he's a solid #4.
Let's get this party started!
Cheers to a ****ty season from Philthy and ****sburgh...
Lets get this thread past 5 pages this year![]()
Andrew Gross Is reporting that Hagelin will start on the 1st line with Richards and Nash.
That means Stepan, Callahan and Gaborik on the 2nd line.
Kreider slips the the 3rd line.
But of course nothing with Torts is permanent.
By the way, the lockout really hurt the chances of any of the young guys working their way onto the NHL roster.
Especially Miller and Thomas. They're pretty close. And McIlrath shouldn't be far behind.
Im pretty positive you'll see Thomas this year.
JT Miller looks good with the puck but is pretty bad without it. He needs the AHL.
Only team need I see is a better 5-6 D-man especially come playoff time.
Maybe someone like....Wade Redden![]()
TUUUKKAA TIME!!!!!!
(Finally)
**** you Tim Thomas you deranged psycho ass hat.
I'd be surprised if Asham gets 3rd line minutes. My best guess is...
1st line: Richards, Nash and Hagelin
2nd line: Stepan, Gaborik and Callahan
3rd line: Boyle, Kreider and Pyatt.
4th line: Halpern, Rupp and Asham (once his 1 game suspension is over - Brandon Segal was called up and will probably start in his place tomorrow night).
I expect that Hagelin and Gaborik and Kreider will all move around between lines (Gaborik between 1st and 2nd and Hagelin and Kreider andwhere between 1st and 3rd).
I'm going to say it yet again this year.
The Rangers need to move Derek Stepan.
He's not a #2 center and he's terrible on the PP. Why they put him out there with the #1 unit is beyond me. He has no speed. Not strong on the puck. He doesn't possess good hands. He doesn't move the puck quickly.
I haven't figured out what they should target coming back but I'd settle for picks for now.
Observations...The Captain must have blocked at least a half dozen shots, gabby was flying, Nash was strong on the puck, MDZ plays much better when he creates offense and plays with Staal, Emminger is slow, put Gilroy in, Hank hasn't hit his stride yet, should have won by 2 goals in regulation, but got sloppy, and in the name of God, stop with the stupid penalties!
Hagelin isn't doing much either
