Howie was right. THAT John Tavares goal was the biggest of the season.

I hope that gets the top line going again. Bailey-Okposo line still the best one rolling for them.

Need to win Thursday in Philly.

that was one suck-azz power play the caps had before the winning goal.

carolina, washington, buffalo and philly all lost

Good. About the only shot they have.

Also, I think they only have 5 home games left.

Additionally, if they do make the 8th seed, majority of games would be on the road.

Owe the Flyers a beat down for the 7-0 thrashing last time.

    Poulin get the start tomorrow?

Big game tonight. Isles win, they can bury the Flyers a bit further.

A little help from the Canadian teams tonight, and they could be tied for 8th in the morning.

Wow, Nabby has as much athleticism tonight as a bag of potatoes.

Told you they should have started Poulin. Navy's too tired to play 4 games this close together.

If they can steal a point in Pittsburgh, I'll be quite pleased.

Huge 2 points. Didn't think they'd win being down 2-0. Had to beat the lowly Flyers, though.

Last nights win takes the pressure of them in Pitt. Realistically, they are losing. But getting those 2 pts gives them a little breathing room to relax, start Poulin and not play a must win game.

After tomorrow, I think they only have 1 game against Boston, otherwise they are done with the top 4 teams.

Re last night, they really dominated the game - the Isles forwards cycled the puck really well. That being said, Hickey and AMac had way too many turnovers and blatant giveaways. While each of these DMen have their particular skill and moments, they are all deficient in some aspect of the game.

Btw, anyone catch the history of the Isles on MSG after the game last night? It was pretty cool recap of the early years.

They showed the OT goal against the Rags 12 seconds into the game to win the series in 1975 scored by JP Parise. As cool as it was, it only made me furious as it rekindles memories of the 2003 draft when the Isles had Zach Parise in their laps as arguably the BAP and the ability to carry on his ol man's name at the Coliseum (although I don't think he won a cup, right?).

Instead, they go with Robert Nillson. How'd that turn out?

I hate to say it, but I agree. Amazing how all of the bubble teams have been losing over the last few days. It would be really nice to keep the momentum going, but Naby has been getting peppered pretty good - needs a break.

That was kind of the Devils to eave a big fat point on the table tonight. Considering they were up 4-2 in the 3rd and blew it in a shoot out, I thought I was watching the Isles.

Visnovsky has been inked to a 2 year extension. Would never have thought that would happen as recently as two weeks ago.

Very positive sign. Should be interesting to see if they look to nab a D-man at the deadline.

Agree about Poulin for the Pittsburgh game. Nabby should rest up for NJ on Monday night. He may not get another night off from here on out...

NHL.com also said the isles were looking to extend Nabby's contract.

I don't get that one. Lets face it, he's getting a little older and slower.

I have a bad feeling the streak will come to an end today. To much hype with the pens. Hope I'm wrong. Looking for today's game to be a good one.

Didn't see the game. Heard the last 10 minutes on Pittsburg radio.

Is this right - isles had a 5 minute major, and didn't score a single goal?

Not that it would have made a difference, but you gotta at least get 1.

I was at a Whalers-Isles game many moons ago. Isles had a 3-0 lead until Brett Lindros bulldozed the Hartford goalie. 5 minute major. Whalers scored 4 on the major.

Had a 5 min major and plus another penalty. Was 5 on 3 for 2 of those 5 mins. Vokoun was in net for pitt and he played lights out. Game could of went either way late in the 3rd.
