Lets see them make it hurt though.
As someone else mentioned earlier today, they seem to play their best when their backs are against the wall. Hopefully, they can rebound with a big effort on Saturday.

This sucks. With this soft ass lineup, the isles are going to get their asses handed to them both ways.

I'm about to kill the rest of this Blantons.

I'm not quite as down on Naby tonight as you guys are, The whole team just sucked, mainly because they were outclassed by a better team.

Fleury could have easily won this game.

    Bring on game 6

It should have been 1-0 going into the 3rd. I'll give him one of those goals, but you need to pick up your team at times - Nabby has done that with just one save in 5 games (Kunitz in 3rd period last game).

You can't play the Fuking Miami Heat of hockey with that kind of goaltending.

As I get drunker, I'm getting angrier. But it's still just one game.

    great as in no goals

Isles couldn't get anything up the middle - give the Penguins D credit. Isles had a lot of shots but maybe two real threats

he just looks spent. the unbelievable saves he was making in the 15 games or so before they clinched just aren't happening anymore.

It's simple, really. You can't expect to win with piss poor goaltending like Nappy has displayed.

Now, you'll contend that they weren't expected to win.

    Then why play the games?

Curious - what was the last team to win a 7 game series with being shutout in two of the games?

i was expecting them to win

i'm not going to blame Naby for that Crosby shot

the swipe where he just got a piece of the puck - unfortunate

blame the offense. since the aggressive powerplay about 7 minutes into the game - the offense has been anemic

    just one of those games

I agree, can't stop every Crosby shot.

But unfortunately, just one of those games is like every game for Nappy.

I agree he looks spent. Problem I have with his play this series is that there are times you need your goalie to make a big save or keep a game close and he hasn't been able to do that. 85% save percentage is not good enough.

Cappy fvcked that one up before it even started. Your team plays their best game of the playoffs and you shake up the line-up.

Hickey AND Martinek over Carkner. WTF. And benching my boy Ullstrom for that lug Joensuu. I don't ever want too see a Hickey/ Martinek again over a Carkner ......especially in playoff hockey against this team.

Now the tough decision is who starts saturday? It will obviously be Nabby, but he just hasn't been right all series. It's like all of his strengths have turned into weaknesses. Good positioning, great glove.....what happened?

The Islanders were the better team tonight for the first 27 minutes of the game.

And then the D fell asleep and allowed the breakaway that completely changed everything. Nabby's Fleury imitation on the 2nd goal was essentially the dagger. He played like crap, but honestly, the whole team mailed it in after it was 2-0.

They deserved to lose. All of them.

Dust it off and move on. Agree on the lineup changes. Big mistake.

Saturday night we may go out, but it won't be like this.

No, Penguins did nothing wrong. But they took advantage of a soft Isles lineup. Pens took liberties because the Isles had no answer for it. The Pens don't dress any goons - especially with Glass out of the lineup. But, the have enoughveteran hard nosed players that know when to mix it up and press their physical advantage when they have it. I don't begrudge them for it, I would like to have had an answer for it, but unfortunately we didn't. We'll see, but I suspect we'll have Carkner dressed on Saturday.

The D totally fell asleep on the first goal - I certainly concede that. But, it would be nice if your goalie could bail you out on a one on one with Tyler Kennedy. The team collectively was playing very well - they earned that from Nabby.

And then after the second goal, it was essentially over.
