I disagree with Jon McGraw. The guy turned out to be injury prone, but no one could have known that would be his issue. I thought he played quite well his rookie season. He was well on his way to proving his draft pick until the injury bug took over.

Drafting a QB to play safety or receiver is always a crapshoot. If the guys heart is at QB, you're never gonna get him to play at the level you want.. Worked for John Lynch. but doesn't work more often than it does (Eric Crouch, Frost, etc)

Not the first time Jets drafted a QB and tried to convert the player to a safety. In 1981 the Jets drafted JC Watts (Oklahoma) a wishbone QB. Jets told him they wanted to convert him to safety. He told the Jets he was a QB and signed with the Canadian Football League. Played QB for the Ottowa Roughriders:

Jets need to draft more Sooners.

Jets need to target this years crop of draft eligible Sooners that would address needs at safety and WR. S Tony Jefferson and WR Kenny Stills. QB Landry Jones would flourish in a West Coast offense.

Kinda like trading a 4th round pick for a scrub Fullback trying to convert to QB.
