What am I, the National Security Advisor? It shouldn't be any more complicated than, "Mr. President, the US Embassy in Benghazi is under attack and we have reason to believe the Ambassador is in grave danger."

Certainly not, "Ah **** it, we'll let him sleep."

Wasn't aware we had an embassy in Benghazi.

    Really? Semantics? Embassy..Consulate.

How about dead Americans with our flag flying overhead while their pleas for help were ignored as the President slept?

That, in a nutshell, is a perfect example of the level of discussion you bring to this forum.

    Trolling, little else.

But, there is and was a difference especially when it comes to security within Libya and all other ME countries.

Folks we put in harms way, as agents of America...were abandoned...as the President slept.

    Refute that.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) acknowledged on Wednesday that House Republicans had consciously voted to reduce the funds allocated to the State Department for embassy security since winning the majority in 2010.

On Wednesday morning, CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien asked the Utah Republican if he had "voted to cut the funding for embassy security."

"Absolutely," Chaffetz said. "Look we have to make priorities and choices in this country. We have…15,000 contractors in Iraq. We have more than 6,000 contractors, a private army there, for President Obama, in Baghdad. And we’re talking about can we get two dozen or so people into Libya to help protect our forces. When you’re in tough economic times, you have to make difficult choices. You have to prioritize things.”

Abandoned, they were attacked in a foreign country, what would of been a realistic response? F-16's?

That is obfuscation....as was pointed out, this wasnt an Embassy.

Semantics aside.....We put them there... knew who they were, we knew what they were doing and when it went bad, we let them be violated and killed.

    Right up to the President.

    Please, anyone...refute that.

The world is a dangerous place and horrific things happen, "agents of America" know these dangers come with their jobs.

"Unfortunately, there was no specific intelligence or indications of an imminent attack on that -- U.S. facilities in Benghazi," Panetta said. "And frankly without an adequate warning, there was not enough time given the speed of the attack for armed military assets to respond."
He also noted that the National Counterterrorism Center had identified some 281 threats to U.S. diplomats, diplomatic facilities, embassies, ambassadors and consulates during the six months before the attack in Benghazi.

Brother 32, you are asking them to defend the indefensible. Like a dog who is cornered, they are merely lashing out and growling out of desperation. do not hold your breath waiting for an intelligent response.

No one is trying to defend it, simply just stating its not easy to respond in a foreign country.

No, you're not trying to defend it -- you're trying to excuse it entirely.

    WOW are you informed.
GWB was on a scheduled trip to that school. He was notified immediately of the attacks and left immediately.

Bengazi was a coverup. We had diplomatic officials with no security team.

The Hawaiina just sat this one out.

How do you jump to that conclusion? Because I don't agree with you and 32 by no means I am excusing what happened.

There were operations within Benghazi being done by the U.S, that was a major issue and to pretend that was not a major factor is dishonest at best.

The State Dept has major issues that must be addressed after this tragedy, but to act like the President should not trust the people in the chain of command for this incident is ridiculous.

I have not been able to see why the Ambassador would of been in Benghazi on 9-11 with just his small protection detail? I was in the Middle East when this happened and have worked out of a U.S Embassy, it ain't like the movies.

Barry Bonds lies to a congressional hearing about steroids, he faces a mandatory prison sentence. Hillary Rotten Clinton lies about 4 American citizens murdered in cold blood (and one of her lies led to some hapless fool making youtube videos no one every watched to wind up in prison, where he remains to this day), no problem.

Only a worthless federal pig stooge would defend this administration.
