I dont think anyone is better, but I'd throw the Beach Boys, the Allmans etc. in there too.

Thought the show was great. Henley is one intense dude....he reminded me more of a civil war General in the end...than a musician.

Frey came off like a real sharp, ruthlessly ambitious guy who never really thought of the band as anything other than him and Henley, despite the rotating cast of support players.

Geffen came off like a tool, but I'll never understand why Don would go with him again after the first go round....his complaining sounded hollow, since he knew what Geffen was about all along.

Lots of respect for Rondstat for the way she handled the boys leaving her band.

All in all, a great watch.

Folks like to rip tons of stuff I like. I get to say I hate things, too.

No offense to SOOTH or anyone else who likes The Eagles. BUT, IMO, it's elevator music designed to be on the corporate side of the rock spectrum.

The Doobie Brothers or Poco could play and write circles around them. That is, if we're talking about rock tunes, not easy listening, where The Eagles would have the clear advantage.

So does that mean I should keep silent about my Captain and tenille collection?

You get just as many people who totally agree with your tastes in music and chicks, but you get totally p*ssed at the few detractors.

Thats why its so much fun to mess with you.

You cant be serious about your stated views on the Eagles so I'm not even entertaining them.

Honestly, except when certain tools make it personal and slanderous, I never get pissed. Incredulous? No doubt.

Good band, a lot of songs I like, but Greatest American Rock Band of the 20th century?!?!?!

    Thats a bit much.

Certainly, I don't despise them as I do the quasi-musicians/hucksters Fagen and Becker. There are one or two Eagles' songs I dig. It's just that the body of
work is styled as the type of music our parents would have enjoyed dancing to at the country club "Saturday Night Rock Fete and Chinese Auction".

Don't know much about the band. Just the stuff we would have heard on FM radio or in the dorms. Seems like they could play, unlike Glen Frey, who couldn't wait to sell out and go Hollywood.

BG, you seem to have a dislike similar to Francesa and his hatred of the Jets, what gives? While agreed the Eagles are not the greatest band that ever lived ( that title is owned by The Grateful Dead, lol.) they surely have made some good music even David Johansen sold out.

Henley's reminds me of Sting, Henley could of stayed a very successful solo act, but unlike Sting he "let" the other band mates back to make some serious money.

I said I liked two songs, didn't I? And don't get me started on The Dead.

I'm with you here and with the Eagles 100%. Eagles - not terrible, but far from the greatest. Steely Dan sucks big fat moose c*ck. Like clockwork, I want to stab myself in the eye everytime I hear them.

Steeley Dan is awesome and The Eagles are a terrific band.

I'm not even an Eagles guy....more a Greatest Hits and Hotel California fan.

I don't mean to be disrespectful to you, Apache, LI, or the legion of Dead Heads. I just never connected with the music, which i hear as meandering. There comes a point when instruments must, finally, be in tune after 30 minutes of trying.

Plus, I want to slap the crap out of those whirling dervish dancing chicks. Hot or not, please f**king stop.
