Draft this Beast - Estonian Bridge Troll

    The Estonian Bridge Troll

    Margus Hunt - SMU
    6'8"
    275lbs - no fat
Bench Press : 38 reps (tied for best at the combine with a guy who weighed in 70lbs heavier than him)
40 Time: 4.6 (best at his position)

An internation discuss competitor, Big Margus arrived on SMU's campus looking to work with SMU's Track and Field Coach.

Thankfully, June Jones signed him up to see if he could play football. With only 4 years of football under his belt, he is a little raw but a complete physical freak.
    - In the Compass Bowl - he made the Pitt's OL his B'tch
    - In the Hawaii Bowl - he made the Fresno RT cry for his momma and the Fresno QB cry for everyone's momma
    - He managed to block 17 kicks during his time on the Hilltop.
    - He is mean and nasty.

    yes, intriguing...

but what round and where does he play on the Jets?

BTW - I mentioned him about a month ago as there were reports that he would impress at the combine, which he has.

I watched him play for 4 years. His first year, they basically said: Stand here - go there. He blocked kicks and that was about it. By his Senior Year, he started to dominate the guys in CUSA and continued to improve. Given how many kicks he blocked, you would have thought that opposing coaches could have devised a "no matter what, block that guy" scheme but they never did.

He really is a beast of a man still learning the game. As a result, I don't think he goes early in the 1st round.

If he makes it to the late 1st/2nd round, you have to move up to get him. He has all world physical tools.

I like the kid too... saw him dominate in the bowl game.
    I think he's more of a 4-3 DE, though...

Can he play 3-4 OLB? He's got the speed, but I think he's too stiff.

As you might imagine, 20 year old men who have never played football (or rugby) often don't like contact. As a result, the success rate of converting discus throwers to FB is not very high. Simply put, Margus is a very mean man who likes contact.

All his issues are the result of a lack of experience - not heart or effort. But, he has improved every year and there is nothing to suggest he has "topped out."

If you want to see something funny, find a clip of the Fresno St's QB's eyes from the Hawaii Bowl. From the fear in his eyes, you would have thought Hannibal Lector was about to ...

Nah, he's different. I was anti Gholston. This dude is much bigger, much meaner on the field, and a better first step.

Gholston went around guys, this guy goes around them + through them.
Also he's not going to be a top 10 pick... or even a first rounder probably.

Risky - boom/bust pick - but I think in like 3 years you will wonder how teams let him slip.

He sounds like the perfect combination of two of our best picks in recent memory.

Can we rename him Vladdmir Gholston?

That many reps with arms as long as a 6'8" guy has is impressive. Problem is with that height, it can be very hard to keep your pad level low, so it becomes easy to lose leverage.

Be fun to see coming off the edge as a situational pass rushing OLB.

Can he catch? Make him a tight end.

    Just kidding.

But still, would be unreal in the red zone. Stronger, taller than Gronk.

Who did Gholston go around after OSU?

    Don't like Hunt at all...

And don't think he'll go in the first round either. Just watch the senior bowl practices and game.

That was his only move, very one dimensional player...
