There's no need for Tampax Abe or any aging veteran. Let him go sit on the sidelines for a third franchises' playoff games. Atlanta finally wised up. "Hey guys, I'm here for 9 sacks in three months, but come crunch time .. DEUCES!!"

12 years in the NFL and 160 sacks is "unrealized potential"?

FU Tanny and Mangina for trading Abe the second you clowns took over. Mangold is a good Center but no way is that even remotely close in value to a double-digit sack pass rusher in today's NFL.

If the Jets went to a 4-3 defense next year they could sign Abe to a similar deal they gave Landry last season (1 yr $6 mil) and put him opposite Coples. OMFG we would actually have a pass rush for the first time in 8 years.

Sign him for very cheap, not sure he has anything left. Still prefer we get our OLBs the right way - through the draft and there's heaps to choose from this year

His sacks came in bunches and he was very unreliable. Thanks but I'll take Mangold who has given us consistent excellence throughout his career and is still with the Jets. Abe was a talented pansy without heart.

Yup. Just ask the Falcons fans about his impact in any of their playoff games. Abraham SUCKS.

You're crazy if you think a good center is more valuable than one of the NFL's best pass rushers of the past 12 years. Homeritis.

He sat out two playoff games in '04. One game we won and the other we would have won if Herm wasn't such a conservative douche and Brien remembered how to kick a fg. Other than that you guys are blowing it way out of proportion and disregarding the fact we have had 0 pass rush since Mangenius got rid of him.

Besides not having a pass rush the decision to get rid of Abe had other residual more namely the drafting of Vernon Gholston in 2008.
