Agreed. Love him as a player. GREAT DB and an awesome tackler.

We just can't afford him and we have so many needs.

No team in the history of the NFL has won more playoff games than the Pats over a 10-year period like the Pats have done recently.

    Nice response.

Things must be slow at the supermarket. Better get off the Internet or your manager will dock you an hour's pay!

    Exactly.

Deion was a playmaker, Revis is not.

In 6 seasons, Revis only has 19 INT's along with a friggn' goose egg on INT's in the 2010 season.

    Yea, he's worth $16MM a year.

How will we match up vs. the Pats if we trade Revis?
22 guys on the field and we don't match-up with them with Revis.

It's not about any other team. It's about rebuilding a broken foundation so that in time, other teams need to worry about matching up w/us (having faith in the organization to do that successfully is another thing altogether).

I'm not in the "trade-Revis-no-matter-what" camp. But there's a strong case to be made for it. It's awful that the stewards of the organization have let it deteriorate to the point where trading it's best player in his prime is potentially the only smart play. But that's where we are.

Such a clueless post. The cheatriots, with their multiple offensive weapons, are one of the teams where losing Revis will matter the LEAST.

You should be asking how we would matchup against the Lions or Falcons with true #1 receivers.

Edit - sorry to be harsh if you're honestly asking the question and not trying to imply WE'RE DOOMED. If you're honestly seeking an answer, mine still applies.

At what point do you think people start and stop believing he's a team player, and that he wants to win a Lombardi Trophy more than being the highest paid defensive player in the league?

    I hope that is sarcasm.

Revis could care less about winning a Lombardi as long as he is the highest paid defensive player in the league.

He could be the most selfish player in the NFL over the last 10-year period.

No, I should have phrased it better.

At what point do people stop falling for his schtick that he wants to win a Superbowl?

It will also ensure that the team gets draft picks for 2014.
The Jets can't wait because once he gets to training camp It's over . Money dries up teams that might want him and he might want to test unrestricted Fa in 2014. Than you have to trade him on the cheap as one year rental.

JMO I don't buy the 49ers or the falcons(they just cut three players because of cap) given the Jets what they want for Revis. I could see one year rental for both teams but the price the Jets will get back in a trade won't be that much.

There might be one suitor for Revis. This one I might buy. Sal Paolantonio from ESPN was with Greg Papa on the Game 95.7
here in the Bay Area. He speculated that Revis would be traded either
to the 9ers or the Donkos. Donkos would have to give up
Dumervil and the first round pick to get Revis, but would fill
    Dumervil's slot with Freeney.

If the Broncos offered the Jets that package the Jets would be wise to jump all over that trade. The closer we get to training camp the harder it going to be to move him and more likely he leaves with the Jets not getting back anything for Revis. (Jets with money will sign a Big freegent in 2014)

How have the Jets done vs the Patriots with Revis? If Jets have owned that matchup against the Patriots with Revis, I could see your reservation about moving him. That hasn't been the case.

The Jets aren't serious contender to the Patriots till Tom Brady starts to decline. Until than The AFc East will probably be the Patriots. That what happens when you luck out and find your franchise Qb.
