Yesterday, I saw that my distributor had sixes of Shiner FM 966 Farmhouse Ale. Never had it before, so was anxious to sample the brew. Well, I just opened one up and it was a complete, pleasant, surprise.

The "Spring time" ale is absolutely delicious. Crisp, with notes of flowers and banana. If it's around, this will be this Summer's go to beer.

I'm gonna put Shriner on my go to list. Going out later for dinner..we'll see if they have it.

    Thanks.

LOL. I drank one, not all six.

I got one of the last two sixes at the distributorship. Some guy was berating the manger for running out (he took home the final six).

When I saw it was only 150 people, I wasn't too disappointed. Sounds way too intimate for me. I was hoping it was on a larger scale, maybe 500+?
I'm sure there's a lot of beer geeks crying over it tho.

So no pic in hand, but this guy has been good to me lately. Good flavor, smooth, light but satisfying hop taste. Definitely tolerable to the non IPA fans. Might be a good way to introduce people to hops. Only about 4.5% so it's easy to party with. It might be a light beer to me, I can drink it all day.
Actually might be a little too drinkable....

Thanks bud, likewise. I did my undergrad in Information Systems there. Good school, but I always wished I did my undergrad at a school with more of a social scene (I went to the NYC campus).

Sounds like a good time. Did you have the Shiner Farmhouse Ale on tap? They make a bunch of interesting brews. I'm hoping my beer dist. brings up some of their Kolsch.

    Sam Adams Summer Variety Pack:

Diggin it....Little White Rye so far so good....dunno if I'd say any of them were 'go to' but nice for a change in the summer. Porch Rocker 'Radler' not bad for the hot summer days either.

Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy is good. It's got a nice blueberry kick to it.
