our offense lacks a big time playmaker.

revis is our playmaker on defense i agree and want him here for the rest of his career.
Except you want to give away high picks AND then have to pay him big money, that is a horrendous combination regardless of need.

Harvin is too much of a headache and we all ready have one in Santonio.

I'd suggest if the Jets want to draft someone like Harvin who'd come cheaper and without baggage they'd be best to draft Tavon Austin

You're talking about throwing draft picks and another $50 million dollar contract at a receiver.

A team that has no QB, is cash strapped, and is going through a rebuilding phase with a multitude of holes to address.

You don't think things through, huh GMC?

    LOL

3 years is a f*cking eternity in the NFL.

The Cardinals were in the Superbowl 5 years ago. Where are they now?

Again, why "creatively finance" a position that has one overpaid receiver? Why not look to spend that money on an established game changer that is already on your team, like Revis? You really are demonstrating a profound inability to understand the financial complexities of the NFL salary cap.

Your continual tack of creating threads such as this make it very difficult for many of the posters here to take any discussions with you seriously. The saying goes, if you run into an assh0le during your day, you ran into an assh0le. But if you keep running into assh0les, maybe there's a need to check the mirror yourself. Now, I'm not calling you that, but maybe your constant problems are a bit self-inflicted. Food for thought.
Not to derail this great thread, but as a side note, you make a great point about mcknight and it shows just how bad sparano was as an OC.

When we lost holmes and hill and were literally giving 30 snaps to clyde gates, and sanchez was struggling to get the ball downfield why didnt we get mcknight in the slot? How about put him and powell in the backfield together and run a few bubble screens and misdirections?

Yes he has an issue fumbling, but to not figure out how to get him the ball in space is an insult to offensive coaches that actually play to their players strengths.

Mornhinweg said he wants to use RBs in the slot on short yardage passing downs, could be a great role for McKnight.

For cryiing out loud, you will be using that pathetic story for the next 10 years.

Just so you know, since that time, the Jets are 1-11 against winning football teams, 14-18 overall, and haven't sniffed the playoffs.

Sunday night bingo is over, it's back to the basement, and back to JI to troll on all Jets fans that dare to post anything positive about his team.

2013 is not about getting play makers. What part of the cap situation are you not comprehending? Let me make it simple - THE JETS HAVE NO MONEY TO SIGN OR TRADE FOR ANY BIG NAMES. That's it in a nutshell. 2013 is all about cheap, mid level talent at best. 2013 is about playing out the season, clearing cap space and having a high draft pick in 2014.

There is NO WAY we should be trading any picks for players over the
next two drafts. We should be collecting picks and restocking our
    talent base

    Percy to Seattle?

    Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter
Vikings trying to trade WR Percy Harvin and are in discussions with Seahawks, amongst other teams, per team sources. Seahawks favored.

    Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter
And so the first blockbuster trade of the week is shaping up to involve...Percy Harvin. Imagine Harvin, Russell Wilson and Beastmode.

As Jets fans, we really should hope for this.

It would put all the more pressure on San Fran to acquire Revis to combat Seattle.
