So DRC, Smith and Cox all sign for 5 million per year. Interested to see what Nnamdi get. CB value is dropping.

@AdamSchefter: Next CB deal likely done is in New Orleans. Saints are close to deal with Steelers free-agent CB Keenan Lewis that could be done today.

Tough sledding for free agents continue - $6M a year for CB Sean Smith. that won't bode well for the bevy of aging CBs on the market

  4. #384
@JasonLaCanfora: Matt Cassel quickly signs with the Vikings, as long expected, and as first reported by Jay Glazer

@JasonLaCanfora: Sorry folks, looks like that report on Delmas was incorrect. it's a different agency, not official. No Delmas deal yet

@JasonLaCanfora: So, while nothing has been announced by Delmas, 49ers or the agency that reps him ... I'd be pretty surprised if Delmas doesn't land in SF

EDIT: @AdamSchefter: Lions announced S Louis Delmas returning to Detroit on a two-year deal.

    Wow

@AdamSchefter: Another free-agent jolt: Rams free-agent RB Steven Jackson has reached agreement with the Atlanta Falcons.

This just goes to show you it is IMPARATIVE to draft well......you cant keep everyone on your team in the salary cap era..its impossible...so you will have to turn over the roster every 4 years......

Respectfully disagree. Half his games are in a dome. I couldn't see him playing outside at Lambeau for half the season.

@adbrandt: Teams like Packers/Ravens to be criticized for resisting name brands but key to their success is trusting scouting, next man up.

  14. #394
@RavensInsider: Keenan Lewis' five-year, $26.3 million contract with Saints has $10.5 million guaranteed, per source. Deal is all signed off on now

I agree with that, I thought the Packers would be a bad fit for him too.

    Interesting - Mike Wallace Contract:

    The cap numbers are

$3.25 million in 2013 GUARANTEED (Includes $2.2M signing bonus)
$17.25 million in 2014 GUARANTEED (Includes $2.2M signing bonus)
$12.1 million in 2015, $3M Injury GUARANTEED (Includes $2.2M signing bonus)
$13.7 million in 2016 (Includes $2.2M signing bonus)
$13.7 million in 2017 (Includes $2.2M signing bonus)

That's a lot of cap space to eat up in 2014.

All that for a guy who needs someone else to get him involved in the game. It's a good thing these players don't have to deal with me as a GM. There's no way i am giving that type of money abd causing that type of cap hit to my team.

The way that contracts reads, if he has a bad season, the Fish will cut him before the start of the 2014 season.
