Not really. But I think people should temper their excitement for David Garrard. Revisionist history is at play here.

the excitement is fans seeing the writing on the wall for tebow who should never have beena jet and sanchez who has worn his wlecome out....i also don't see any excitement...just fans happy that the team is making moves pointing to the right direction.

I'm not exactly thrilled with the signing though based on the current field of QB's available, he is probably the best of them but also he's legitimate competition for the starting job and I hope he gets it...anybody but Sanchez.

I don't think anyone is excited, just understanding the cap situation and the QB situation this was a solid move. A solid veteran that we signed, I imagine, inexpensively that will be a legit challenge to Sanchez if whomever we draft isn't ready.

I guess Jeff George turned us down.

Absolutely, whomever is under center this season will only be a stopgap for a future QB and hopefully we'll find him in this draft

garrard is younger that brady by a year.....lol his issue is not age..its injuries...if he is healthy, its more than a stop gap for a year....and to those already expecting him to not make it out of traning camp....you can feel that way.

Just thinking about watching a meaningful NYJ game without Sanchez as the starting QB has got me excited. The Sanchez nightmare may be coming to an end.

He made the Probowl in his last full season. Should easily beat out Sanchez if given a fair chance and healthy.

Great signing. Garrard immediately becomes the best QB on the roster. If healthy, he should be able to tide us over until we find our QB of the future, hopefully this year or next.

Sanchez would have been gone if not for the nutty salary....I have a strong feeling that Garrard will get more than a fair chance at the QB spot.
