Expected, saves 3.8 million and the Jets can use some of that money to sign Devito. Tebow next to be cut.

Guessing the Devito extension is getting done today.

Too bad for Big Boo. Great guy, good Jet. Pity his back injury has led to this.

Lets hope he is back on a cheaper, non-guaranteed deal

Old and unreliable at this point if your really rebuilding its a understandable move.

But if we are rebuilding how is this rex's make or break year?

Jets create an additional $3.8M of cap space by cutting Pouha. He was scheduled to count $6.2M against the 2013 cap. #nyj

Doesn't make sense you could of just fired him. if this is a rebuilding year there can't be any serious expectations on Rex this year as far as winning goes.

True, but Pouha a real leader, which is even harder to replace. Seems like we lose 1-2 /year.

I was one of the few people here who questioned the re-signing and I got killed for it. Thankfully, there was an easy out for the Jets after Year 1.

Pouha was a good player for us. Shame his body betrayed him. One of the closest things we had to a "leader" the past two years.

I hope this mean we are keeping Devito. Just hope the price is right.

I have been saying this for months. The only way Rex goes is if Idzik has a real problem with him.

Sione Pouha's $4.9M '13 base salary would have been fully guaranteed on the 3rd day of the league year (March 15).

Yep...Maybe resigns later for lower price if he doesn't get offers elsewhere..

Too bad..Pouha is a pro..But that's the biz side of things..

Big Dame and Kendrick Ellis are gonna need to make big strides this year. Especially Ellis who started off great and faded as the season went on.
