Good for Dustin, I still dont think people give him the credit for the player that he was for the Jets.

I agree, I understand he wasn't the complete tight end but people forgot what he did a few years back when he was healthy with our ****ty qb. I hope he signs for a lot because if its for less money than bennet in chicago I will be pissed.

he had his moments here. but the jets can draft a TE who is taller, faster with arguably better hands. dustin is just above a jag. no phases of his game are in the top 10 of TEs. he's not top 10 in speed, blocking, playmaking ability, hands, etc.

Why the hell would Keller sign a 1-year deal?

I get that, but he wasnt drafted to be an "all around" TE, he was drafted to be a receiving threat, not a traditional blocking TE. Thats not who he was.

Because he knows he's not going to get a multi-year deal.

Keller was the biggest disappointment at TE. He had all the talent, would dominate a game, and then go missing for the next 5 games.

    Inconsistent. Good riddance.

probably not getting what hed want in a long term contract, so he will bet on himself to have a big year and sign a long deal next year. If I was him I would have tried to go to a team like the giants who have a need for tight end and a more experienced qb.

and that's the problem. look around the nfl. keller was never a top receiving threat. he was an underneath safety net.

Im thinking its probably 1 yr 5 mill a year, which is not terrible. Miami is taking a chance to make a run for the playoffs.

I'd be very surprised if it was for 5 million.

I think Keller gets more money from Miami on a one year deal than he would from another team on a multi year deal. Plus, the structure of some the new free agent contracts the Dolphins signed leaves more cap room for this year than the next few years.

If the Jets do go after Kolb, any idea how much it would cost to get him?

This question would worry me under Tannebaum, because he overpaid consistently for the sake of getting a deal done.

With Idzik, I'm not as concerned, if Kolb is too expensive, we won't sign him, that simple.
