@ProFootballTalk: Here's why the Jets shouldn't get the same deal for Revis that the Vikings got for Harvin http://t.co/2n7rjDlw2l
That first article is funny. Florio, the nerdy news aggregator with no actual connections, definitively decides what is fair price for revis and also that no other teams than the bucs are interested.

Yet when it comes to trade rumors about teams he likes, he will always build up the "darkhorse" possibility, hoping to help the trading team's yield. But hey the gossip business is better when the jets get bad deals.

The Jets have their sights set on a top 5 pick next year. Doing an awesome job so far with these names being involved.

He isnt bad at all. Only 25, good speed and size, can catch. He was buried on the depth chart in Carolina, and was injured with Oakland last year. In his only full season in Carolina averaged 4.4 YPC and had 40 receptions. Last year averaged 6.3 yards on only 35 carries and had 16 receptions.

Could fit in nice with the Jets.

@JasonLaCanfora: The Revis derby isn't limited to one team. Several have had trade talks, including the Eagles and Bucs, and NYJ highly motivated to move him

Several teams are pursuing Darrelle Revis, including the Eagles and Buccaneers, according to league sources.

The Jets would like to make the deal as soon as possible, though Revis' recovery from ACL surgery complicates things. Jets owner Woody Johnson is highly motivated to make the deal, as we first reported weeks ago, but sources involved in the discussions have said teams have been hesitant to part with a bevy of picks only to then have to step up and give Revis a deal making him one of the highest paid players in the game.

Revis has one year worth $6M left on his contract and the Bucs and Eagles have ample cap space, and could create more with the release of veteran corners Eric Wright (set to make $8M this season in Tampa) and Nnamdi Asomugha (set to make $15M in Philly). Both have long been likely cuts anyway, due at least in part to their big salaries.

Both Tampa and Philadelphia are willing to be aggressive to make moves and have long discussed this move internally, sources said. other teams have expressed interest as well.

Jets are not signing any vets with age. They are going young, building throught the draft, etc... We need to see what Powell and Mcnight can do with more of a load and draft another in the mid rounds.
