    Danny Amendola to the Patriots

    Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter
Lose one receiver, add another: Patriots reach agreement in principle on five-year deal with former Ram Danny Amendola, per league source.

So much for missing Wes Welker

Very smart move by the cheaters.
He's got the same skill set as Welker, is younger, and cheaper. Brady can make any WR with that skill set lead the NFL in catches.

@RapSheet: The Patriots agreed to a 5-year deal with Danny Amendola, source says. 5 years, $31M. $10 guaranteed. Avg: $6.1

If he can stay healthy, he is an upgrade over welker at this point in welkers career.

Don't know if he has the speed of Welker, but he seems to be more of a downfield threat than Welker.

Amendola will have a good year, but not a la Welker, IMO.

Good luck to him on the Pats. I like DA.

Except when he plays the Jets. May he have the worst games of his career against the Jets.

Also I have to say that no WR can just go into the Patriots system and succeed. They need to understand it and be able to comprehend the routes and cuts and different audibles.

    Yes.

    Amendola >>> Welker pre-Brady

Now watch what Danny does with Brady

That was expected. Thank God they didn't get Victor Cruz.

What are you basing that on, the fact that he is white and younger?

Give me a break. The Pats system did wonders for Welker, but he had 5 straight years of 100 catches. Thats absurd and speaks to his talent level. Lets see Amendola do that once before declaring that the Pats outsmarted everyone yet again.

Again, what is the basis for this statement?

I actually think Victor Cruz would have been better in their system. Has played the slot for most of his career and has great athleticism.

    Amendola isn't white.

How you seen Amendola play? He is a great slot reciever, and made Sam Bradford look good. Just imagine what happens when he hooks up with Brady
