Antawn Barnes to visit Jets on Thursday

Not bad. He was with the Ravens early on in his career. Had a big year a couple of years ago (double digit sacks).

Worth a look (better than the nothing we have now).

The Jets tried to sign him in 2011. Rex must like him.

He had one year of big production (11 sacks) as an everydown LB in 2011, but was limited to passing downs last season.. where he's apparently better suited.

Apparently is an excellent SP guy as well.

Good solid, under the radar signing

He was put on IR in Dec so I'm not sure what that's about

Barnes/Butler behind Big Mo and Coples looks good to me. If Jets sign Ansah/Jarvis Jones/Mingo/Jordan then the Jets passrush looks to have a Major upgrade

I'd like Jones at this point. Spinal Stenosis and everything.

I like Barnes too, he always seemed to be flying around, takes some bad angle in pursuit supposedly which limits him in the running game but has exp in the 3-4 and with Rex

Everyone needs to hop on this bus.

So what if the guy has spinal stenosis?

So what if it causes him to retire after 6 years?

If he produces 10+ sacks a year for the next 5-6 years....I'll take that and run for the #9 overall pick.

What guy on the Jets has had that kind of production for the last 5-6 years?

Better yet....what guy on this team for the last 5-6 years even had the potential to put up those numbers?

Coples? Maybe? probably more like no one.

I'd kill for a guy with just the potential to put up those kind of numbers.

Easy to say that right now, but if he started missing lots of games leading to an abrupt retirement I would say it wasn't a great pick. Look at jake long he had a great five years but Miami may let him go because he is often injured
