Thread: Jets interested in Bears Davis

Davis is like an extra lineman out there blocking. With Davis in there you at least can keep the defense guessing whether it will be a run or pass. Recently the jets have been sending out Jason Smith or Ducasse, basically telling the opposing D it will be a run.

And let's face it, stone hands or not, all Davis does is catch TDs -- 11 scores on just 47 career receptions!!!

    If he's cheap, get him

Good point & Ducasse doesn't even block well. I love the way his name sounds when we say it but he's a bust...name a player from UMASS that was any good?

Fred Davis was selected in the 2nd round in 2008. He became the Skins' starter in 2011 and recorded 60 catches for about 800 yards despite missing 4 games for failing a drug test. He was franchised last year getting 5.45m. He was in track for another good season until he tore his ACL. If signing good injured players is the Jets plan, he would fit the mold. Skins are hoping to re-sign him since there seems to be little interest due to the risks.
