jets are not rebuilding...they are retooling and if we want to look at some good times....2009 and 2010 will suffice...but the monday night miracle will always be a classic.

2009? Please do play the first half of the Indy game and tell me honestly if, idiot Polian does not make Caldwell pull Peyton, do we win that game and get into the playoffs. The answer is no. So 2009 was a lucky gift that probaby should not have happened.

At least the other 8 wins were legit.

The 2010 was a bigger joke. Thanks to one lucky stretch in November where Holmes saved our asses we wouldn't have seen the playoffs that season either.

Good times were 1998. That was a good time.

You remember how Dandy Don Meredith used to sing the Partys over in a blow out?? I wonder what he would have done if he sung that at the end of the 3rd quarter in that game??

Because no other NFL teams ever pull out crazy wins. When we do it it's lucky, when he other 31 teams do it they call it putting yourself in a position to win.

Both Giants recent SB's, one could make similar qualifications minimizing the validity of the win. The last one, The Giants were the beneficiaries of lots of luck throughout the season including the Jets Eric Smith gifting them with the 99 yard Cruz run. It was the turning point for both teams' seasons. You just don't hear the fans saying those things though.

this right here. There is a little bit of luck involved with any super bowl winning year.

    This guy gets it ...

Both years we had overachieving play in e post season preceded by average play during the regular season.

The fact of the matter is that most fans overrate their teams and build them up no matter what they do. Jets fans underrate and tear down every good thing they do. The NFL is *SO* close that one play can mean one quarter, one quarter can mean one game, one game can mean making the playoffs, one playoff visit can mean Super Bowl. It is that close. Freak plays can drastically change a whole season. Critical, season-ending injuries to key players and a terrible offensive game plan derailed last season more than anything else. Some tweaks here and there and we aren't that far away from the hunt.

Whatever ... Some teams dominate consistently .... The Jets did not dominate during the 2009 / 2010 campaigns.

That team was legit Super Bowl caliber they just missed Keyshawn Johnson bad. If only we had him 1 more season. Heartbreaking.
