Infield is a joke too. David Wright is the only one that would even make the Yankees roster. And Cano is a superior player overall.
    Ike Davis says hello.

    5. Red Sox - rebuilding

    1. Jays - if they stay healthy
    2. Orioles - Steady team in all facets of the game.
    3. Rays - Solid pitching and better hitting than last year.
    4. Yankees - wishful thinking for a decent season. Old and injured starting pitching, great bullpen, joke of a lineup and defenseive team at least the 1st half of the season.
    5. Red Sox - Not even close.

    1) Yankees
    2) Jays
    3) Orioles
    4) Rays
    5) Sox
Really proves to me Yankee fans have no clue.

Who's pitching staff would you rather have? It's not even an argument. The Mets clearly have the better infield as well.

this year will be alot of fun...at least you have Michael Kay, Suzyn Waldman & that d**sh Sterling to listen to, lolzzz

Get real dude. DW is better than any 3B on your team. Tejada is better than a 40 y/o gimpy Jeter no matter how much you love to kiss his butt and if Ike has a full year like he played in the 2nd half last year, he is making my team over that .220 hitter oyu have playing 1B for you.

As for your pitching, Sebathia has started his slow decline, Pettite gets hurt EVERY year, Kubota or whatever his name is, is also ancient but is probably your best starter and the rest you have no idea what you are getting. Yeah we are starting with Niese, but #2 is Matt Harvey who has better stuff than any Yankee starter, Gee is our #4 and is pretty damned steady, and if MArcum ever sees the field he matches up as well. Plus the Mets have Wheeler coming up, who all experts say has the ability to be an ace and there are a ton of incredible arms in the mets minor league system. Yankees have squat in their minor league system. This is about the future dude and the horizon is much more sunny in Queens these days than in the Bronx.

Met fans have another year of patience in them while the Yankmee fans will be jumping off buildings for the next couple of years. I have much more confidence in Alderson building my organization than Cashman who knows nothing more than how to write big checks.

Tejada, no thanks? Better keeping a 40 year old gimp than a .290 hitter who hits doubles and is a top fielder? Right.

Yankees-haters are similar to Rex Ryan-haters. It's already a foregone conclusion with them the team stinks. Why even bother watching the games the games? These people are so smart and know everything.

    .
Actually sometimes things are worse than they seem. The bottom can fall out on teams. No one expected the red sox to be the trainwreck they were last year, it can happen very quick to a team.

The Yankees are a team with a good pitching staff and an average lineup. They're also counting on a lot of very old players: Jeter, Rivera, Pettitte, Kuroda, Ichiro & Hafner (at least for a little while) If they all stay healthy and productive the Yankees will be fine, but that's a lot of age and players with injury concerns.

Yep. Nunez at least offers you something at an above-average rate - his speed. Other than that, he's a very similar hitter.

This thread has really gone to the land of the absurd.

If the Mets have a better pitching staff and a better infield than the Yankees, shouldn't they be the better team overall? Cuz that leaves only the outfield as the tipping point that leads to the undisputed fact that the Yanks are a far superior team? Or is Francisco Cervelli at catcher that bumps them up?

    Logic.

Nope, the logic works out. The Mets are better than the Yankees.
