    Johan: Out of Season

    Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 43m
Mets’ Johan Santana has probable re-tear in shoulder? Likely out for season? Wow.

He probably pitched with it last year. Never the same after the no-no.

Wilpons are happy. They will get the insurance.

Unfortunate, but honestly was not counting on a big contribution from him this season. Will always have the No Hitter. Good thoughts.

There's a perception that the no-hitter ruined Johan and I think that's inaccurate. He had two starts right after the no-hitter that were poor but then he had 3 good ones in a row. His effectiveness ended when he sprained his ankle during the July 6 game against the Cubs, specifically in the top of the 5th when Reed Johnson stepped on his ankle. He got bombed the rest of the inning and his season.

    No hitter, Vincenzo.

Team isn't doing anything this year anyway. Only problem is we can't trade him for another prospect at the deadline.

Feel horrible for him though. All that hard work to get back and have to end up back at square one. I will be a fan forever because of game 161 in 2008 (if Reyes doesn't piss off the Marlins, who knows what happens) and 6/1/12'a no hitter. That was a great night.

lol read his baseball posts. Its clearly him.

all the responses are "mets blow" and bringing up the Mets plight in Yankee threads.

i dont know about anyone else, but i didnt expect much from him this year...there was an outside chance he was going to pitch well in which case i hoped they could flip him to a contender for a prospect...thats about it.

I never said "Mets blow" in this thread. I said Johan Santana had a nice 1-hitter last season and he blew his arm out and ended his career for it.

Mets don't blow. Granted this Met team could give me a nice rim job if I'd asked them for it since the Wilpons are so desperate for money right now.

You don't know what you're talking about, he didn't blow his arm out in the no-hitter. He pitched 3 good games after that.
