how are we any worse than last year?

Why do the "experts" keep saying we are going to be worse than last year? I don't get it. Everyone that is not on the team anymore was dead weight. Scott, Thomas, Pace, Greene, Keller?

Keller was hurt most of the year, so anyone is an upgrade over him.
Greene, Had an okay season but easily is replaceable
Thomas/Pace combined for what 8 sacks? give me a break.
Scott, did not make one impact play all year.

DeVito. Was real good depth but can be replaced.
Pouha. Was hurt all last year so any production is better than what he gave us.
Bell. Played decent, no complaints but is another year older.

Slausen/Moore, Not signed by anyone yet and one may be back with us. Both did not play that bad last season. I rather have Slausen back in my opinion.

I know it all starts with the play of Sanchez, but could he be any worse than he was last year? I mean he may not even start this year who knows.

I just cant imagine us losing more talent than we are gaining or have already gained this year. Plus we might even add Davis who i think is better than Keller and a decent all around safety in D. Landry.

The only real blow would be losing Revis, but he also did not even play last year, so really how can it get worse?

    We're undefeated right now, technically.

These questions are always extremely relevant to ask before the draft, and such.

Sanchez was 35th in QBR. It will be almost impossible for whoever the QB to do worse.

I tend to agree. Do I see is making the playoffs in 2013? Probably not. But I don't see this team getting worse in the way many "experts" keep claiming.

They point to the "mass exodus" of talent but what they don't seem to realize is that most of those players were washed up and weren't being asked back. Does anyone really think we're going to miss the production of Bart Scott? That we won't be able to replace Shonn Green?

We'll miss Landry and Keller. That's about it.

Only people who'll miss Bart Scott are our opponents.

    Brian Schottenheimer.
    Tony Sparano.
    Marty Mornhinweg.

Three different offenses in three years.

    No playmakers.
    A quarterback with no support.
    A lame duck head coach.
A general manager on a budget.

...and that's just the offense...on defense...

    New coordinator. and almost
at least 6 new assistant coaches.
    At least 7 new starters.
Our secondary left town, one more about to go.
    Lame duck head coach...
    GM on a budget.

...but wait! There's the special teams...

Good post. I'd say that even if we upgrade the talent a bit we probably will slide backwards because the players will have less experience together as a team.

All they are looking at is stats. We lost a 2 time 1k yard rusher. One of the top receiving TEs when healthy. Tenured vets in Pace, Bell, Thomas, and Scott. Seriously I had an argument with a Philly fan who said Scott was the best player on our team last year. My head nearly exploded. Devito who people keep saying was a premier run stuffer but never showed it IMO. On paper all those guys look like they were our core last year but in reality were not very good. Moore who was the longest tenured JET and a good G. Landry who was well hyped are the only 2 real losses IMO.

The object is to out-score the opponent, not to shut out the opponent.

We lose because we have a bad offense with no playmakers and a QB entering his 3rd system in three years.

Mass Exodus of Talent-hardly--more like mass firing of over the hill players .
