Flynn traded to OAK, Palmer on his way to Arizona

    Jay Glazer ‏@JayGlazer 3m
OAK has traded 2 picks to Seattle for Matt Flynn, will sign papers on it this AM & now trying to finalize Carson Palmer to AZ for late pick

    Daniel Jeremiah ‏@MoveTheSticks 10s
Been saying this for a month... teams keep telling me they won't reach on this years QB crop. 2nd rd is the value. Vet additions make sense

    Per roto:

SI's Peter King expects the Raiders to acquire Matt Flynn for a 2014 "mid-round pick," and "perhaps" a conditional pick in 2015.

It means that the Raiders won't have to surrender any 2013 selections, of which they have just four before the 205th pick. An agreement will likely be finalized some time over the next 48 hours.

SI's Peter King believes it's "inevitable" that Carson Palmer ends up with the Cardinals.

The choking smoke should soon turn to fire despite noise about Palmer willing to be a backup for a winning team. King expects the Cardinals to surrender a fourth- or fifth-round pick, and for the sides to agree to an extension "commensurate" with Palmer's recent performance. Palmer's nonexistent mobility makes him a dubious fit behind Arizona's in-progress offensive line, but he can still throw the ball downfield and is a better option than Drew Stanton.

Interesting that @Gil_Brandt says Ryan Tannehill would've been the first to go this year. That's the QB I hear Geno Smith compared to most.

Oakland also trying to finalize a trade that would send Carson Palmer to Arizona for one late pick. Palmer would restructure contract in AZ.

Those who know soon-to-be former Raiders QB Carson Palmer believe he was hoping to wind in Tampa Bay with Bucs. Doesn't look that way now.

Picks in Flynn-to-OAK deal are a pick in 2014 and a conditional pick in 2015.

Palmer wanted out after only a year and a half. He wanted out of Cincinnati so badly he got himself to Oakland quickly realized "oh ****". Now he's in Arizona where he SHOULD be able to beat out Drew Stanton and Brian Hoyer for the job, but he also downgraded big time at LT.

But, Palmer's old news. Now we'll finally get to see the hype machine that is Matt Flynn and we'll get to see him at some point this fall at the Meadowlands.

What are the Cards doing? Palmer is just awful. He will be benched by midseason.

I wouldnt want him as a Jet, but he threw for pretty good numbers on what everyone knows is one of the most dysfunctional teams in the league, accompanied by a putrid defense. Palmer was often down double digits at half, and was forced to air it out often, a la Phil Rivers. I had the unfortunate opportunity to see 7-8 Raiders games last year.

So Carson Palmer will be out of Oakland before the Bengals use that other draft pick they got for him from the Raiders

LOL...what a sh*t show of a franchise. People want to complain about the Jets? Look at that mess in Oakland...LOL.

I'm hearing Carson Palmer, whose contract called for $13M in Oakland, will end up making $8M with the Cardinals

Once Matt Flynn trade completed, Seattle will consider signing Matt Leinart as its No. 2 QB. @mortreport also says Tyler Thigpen in play.

Don't you people see that there's something telling when literally everyone ahead of his doing whatever it can to address their QB situation before the draft... The Jets could be the goat here at 9 if they take Geno.

Palmer can read the tea leaves. Raiders are rebuilding and are clearing out so much money for 2014. (going to have a lot to play with) He probably was going to be cut in 2014- counting 17 million dollars cap (Raiders pick up at least 10 million in cap saving for 2014- mostly what this trade about)

The raiders don't fool yourself have downgraded at Qb for 2013. M Flynn couldn't hold C Palmer jock strap) I hope they give T Pryor a legitimate shot to win the starting job. T Pryor might be the next one to go.( can't rule that one out as he isn't the new regime guy) They could draft a QB(developmental QB and sign a veteran)

Here is another benefit of trading C Palmer to cardinals . Raiders are looking to regroup picks(trade down) and the Cardinals have to trade up to get a LT to protect C Palmer blind side. Raiders are right in the prime position to make another deal with the cardinals.

IF the cardinals can protect C Palmer he will have a monster year with larry Fitzgerald. Take L Fitzgerald if you play fantasy football as he going to pay big dividends with C Palmer throwing him the ball.
