    OFFICIAL METS VS PADRES THREAD

Ruben Tejada 1-1 with an RBI double & Niese in cruise control.....the Amazins are taking over NY with their $88mm payroll while a quarter of a billion dollars gets you shelled in the Bronx-

so far a good day & hopefully a sign of things to come

A little early for a takeover.
Nice start to this game, though.

LOL. 20yrs of pwnage is not undone in one game or one year. Mets fans need to get over the little brother syndrome.

fine, didnt need to add Yankee hate...focused on Mets, but d*ckheads that make comments about Mets futility last 5-6 years can suck a c*ck

Pretty sure you started threads exactly like this last year before the Mets imploded, as usual. Interesting you waiting to make this thread after the Mets were up. Congrats on being NL East champs, no point to watch the rest of the 161 games.

We are on pace to win 162....that's pretty clear. And with an OF like Duda/Cowgill/Byrd, it should have been apparent to us all.

Now lets just see an Isles victory tonight and it will be a glorious day for the Orange and Blue!

Great to see the offense come alive when it counts.

with all the bad breaks the mets have gotten year in year out, would be nice if Cowgill ended up being our dustin pedroia...

Nice start by Niese. Mets continue their Opening Day success.

Ah the start of BB season which of course means less then 6 months to football. BTW

Should be fun to watch these young Mets this year. There will be no titles but we could be a real thorn in the side for many of the contenders. Look forward to see some of the young arms work there way up to the show.

Cowgill not being a Ryan Church would be amazing.

Going to be a good year. We have a nice core forming and some money coming off the books.

This year is going to be the early 80s for the Mets with Alderson playing Frank Cashen.

That only matters if they're willing to spend it.

They are. I will take their word for it. They seemed ready to pay Bourne. That didn't work out but for a good baseball reason. I don't expect a 2006 pay roll but Santana's salary alone can buy you a couple of nice role players.

I don't trust the Wilpons any further than I can throw them.
