The fact that a few posters have made posts being very high on Fisher gets one thinking about what surprises, mild or not so mild there might be as far as one player before another player going at a given position.
Fisher ahead of Joeckel?
Cooper ahead of Warmack?
Rhodes/Trufant ahead of Milliner?
Lotulelei ahead of Floyd?
? ahead of Vacarro? (Cyprien/Elam?)
? ahead of Patterson? (Austin/Allen?)
? ahead of Geno Smith? (Anyone?)
Fire off a few scenarios.
All depends on the system. I will say this Lane Johnson before Warmack.
Reid ahead of Vaccaro
Jamar Taylor ahead of Rhodes
Barkley before Smith?
How about Ogletree in front of Jones.
Could definitely see Cooper before Warmack, could even be us doing it.
I can EASILY see elam over vaccaro.
Also Austin over corduroy is pretty much a lock at this point.
Cyprian over Elam, Reid.
Brown over Te'o, Ogletree, Minter
Jordan as 1st PR off the board.
Ansah over Jarvis. Who would've thought 2 months ago?
Robert Woods over Hopkins, Tavon, Hunter.
Gio over Lacy.
Good thread idea.
Austin before Patterson
Fisher before Joeckel
This is the most wide open draft I can remember. There is going to be a lot of crazy stuff that happens because nothing at all seems to be determined.
Ogletree has a a lot of all the field trouble, and Minter doesn't really stand out to me. Watch a Georgia game, and Ogletree is like the first or second Bulldog that stands out to me. Watch LSU, I see Reid, Montgomery, Mingo.. Minter looks solid, but I think Arthur can be elite. Kinda like a Briggs.
Frankly I have not seen much of either of them play to have a strong position on this either way, but I have seen more and more mocks and rankings that have Cooper going ahead of Warmack. Seems like this trend started at the combine and has, to a degree, taken off since.
To be clear, I'm not advocating one over the other and I'm not claiming that "most" now have Cooper as the #1 Guard. I'm only saying that I have seen this specific swap more often than others so I definitely think this could be one of the more likely surprises to take place.
cause it was the worst draft ever.
Austin at 9 is reaching, to the degree of my arm being dislocated. Eifert's fine, until you spend another pick on another WR and then follow it up with a average RB.
That tells me you have no idea how to draft, and no idea what this team needs.
My favorite was Brown magically being available in the 4th
Okafor before Moore and Jones
Bernard before Lacy
Hopkins before Austin
