With Davis back on the bench where he should be and Satin at first base and contributing, a solid 10-6 win on the road for the Metropolitans over the Giants including a Salami by Byrd.

My observation on Davis....learned nothing in Vegas...same flailing and lunging and hitched late swing as the last two years...starting to look more like Wally Pipp with every start Josh makes

There payroll at thr end of this year will be less than 50 mill. Absolutely they will pay for a couple bats.

As a diehard Mets fans, these last few years, have been a horror. Yet, I think I begin to see some light at the end of this very long tunnel.
An how about that Byrd pick up, the guy has just been so solid, not to mention clutch, all year. Hear he is great in the club house for the young kids as well. Eric Young is also looking pretty good as well. Now with Satin and a few of the other young guys, at least the team is fun to watch again.

4 for 13 and 4 walks since he came back. That's not bad.

What kind of player do you really think Josh Satin is? Gotta admit that I don't think he's anything special maybe a .280-.290 guy with 10 hrs. Not really what I'm looking for at 1B.

They definitely should, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Tell you what, the kid has been very solid at the plate and his defense at first has been as good as Ike's.
Just watched Ike and he is still out in front and looks like crap at the plate.

Solid efficient 7-2 clobbering of the Giants this afternoon behind Wheeler. A sweep and the current successful road trip continues..

A game here and a game there. Play him in LF, 1B,2B and 3B.

If money is the issue bring in guys that the fans like.

But whatever... he isn't going to win a batting title so if we don't sign him it's not like we are missing out on a "savior".

Yo Buster, do you realize the Mets are 5-1-2 in their last 8 series?? They're playing inspired and competitive baseball, and they're really fun to watch this year. Lighten up, trending positive!!!

Were Matt Harvey and Zack Wheeler at the front end of the rote? Was Parnell a lights out closer? And we still have D'Arnaud to look forward to behind the plate. Hopefully the Mets can find a trading partner and get something back for Ike and Duda who shouldnt be a part of the 2014 edition of the Mets.

No, last year they had the NL Cy Young Award winner starting. Last year at this time they were a few games over .500 instead of the eight games under they are now.

I never said that they suck. I'm just making the point that at this time last year the Mets were over .500 and now they're under. Sure Harvey and Wheeler have been fun to watch, but Dickey was fun too. The Mets are doomed if they can't surround the pitching they're developing with offensive talent and right now that is in short supply.
For next year they have Wright, Murphy and 6 ?s Obviously d'Arnaud has potential but so far 0 ABs at the major league level and hasn't stayed healthy in the minors. They don't have a 1b, SS, and the outfield is still suspect. Eric Young has been nice and if he continues to play like he has I would imagine that he'd be back. Marlon Byrd has been a nice surprise but I don't know how much you want to count on a guy who is 1 year removed from being released twice and a PED suspension.

D'Arnaud got hurt in April. He has 36 AB's this season

    LOL

We either stick with these guys and hope they figure it out and they regain some value or we get rid of them and get nothing in return.

Nobody wants either player right now

so D'Arnaud died and will never play again??

and I could care less if they get rid of both Duda and Davis...the team is much better with Young in left and Satin at first. Ike should be sent back to Las Vegas during the all star break and never return. He's been Wally Pipped

Sad to say, the guy was crushing it two years ago. Today he looks totally lost both at the plate and in the field. I am sure he is totally dejected and if he had any confidence, it's gone. Satin on the other hand, is not a power guy but he sure as hell knows how to make contact. Very good eye at the plate and put the ball in play. He seems to nickel and dime opposing teams to death. Ike on the other hand is like a sure out the minute he steps up to the plate. My opinion is to far back in the box and out in front of most pitches with that damn hitch he was rid himself of in LV. Sending him back to Wally for the remainder of the season may be doing him a huge favor.
Duda looked like he was starting to come around when he took over first base. Still not sure yet, could still be hope there.
