I love Harvey for what seems like a rare combination of stuff and attitude. Its like he wants people to look dumb for sitting on his pitches.

Best young pitcher in baseball. 3-0 with a .82 era.

Schilling set something last week about Harvey being in the Verlander, Kershaw, Stras, Felix stratosphere within the next 12 months.

Don't want to get ahead of myself, but it may be even sooner. His stuff is just downright filthy.

I just got tickets. I can't believe I'm actually excited for a Met game again.

Good for the Mets. Hopefully they get a full house. Should be a dandy.

When Wheeler is ready and comes up, the Mets could have a hell of a pitching staff for the next five years. Next year looks to be the year where the Mets could be a serious threat to the Nats and the Braves

    Back from the game

Harvey dominated the Nats and the Mets bats thumped Strasburg and the bullpen. Maybe Ike has finally decided to start the season too.

great night for the fans at Citi with the crowd buzzing for the first time since RA Dickey 20 last season

great game. Harvey is the real deal no doubt. he hits 97-98 effortlessly.

The only problem was because I'm such a fat bastard I missed the home runs because I was back in the Hyundai club stuffing my face.

    Mets record stands at 8-8

They are 7-1 when Niese or Harvey start

They are 1-7 when anyone else starts

Gee I believe can straighten himself out, but this team can't have Hefner and Laffey as their back of the rotation starters.

Additionally, the Mets lead the league in runs per game! Not likely to last, but still.....Alderson needs bring Zach Wheeler up ASAP!

No need to rush Wheeler to the bigs, it's only April and Shaun Marcum should be back with the club as early as next week.

That gives them 3 quality starters and two guys who you hope can keep you in half the games they start.

I'm more concerned with the bullpen's performance. It's only a small sample, but Edgin and Hawkins have to improve big time. Rest of pen has been pretty solid, particularly Rice (great story). Hope he keeps it up.

Wheeler is having command issues in Vegas (keep in mind that league is all launching pads)

No need to bring him up until June. We really couldve used a healthy Johan/Marcum.

Also....where is Colin McHugh. Anything is better than Hefner

Fantastic win....Gee gets on track, combines for a 4-hit shutout of the Nationals, giving the Mets the rubber match of their 3 game series.
