    Tyler Wilson, QB Arkansas

    http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/...son?id=2539201

Haven't watched any of his games but Josh Norris has him ahead of Geno Smith in his QB rankings (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...in-qb-rankings). Is this someone the Jets should be considering?

I happen to like tyler Wilson.and with the way sanchez has progressed they should be considering every option their is.I happen to like Wilson and nassib the most. But nassib will probably be gone late 1st early 2nd round.

I'm in favor of new blood at QB period.

Draft a QB in rd. 2-3 (where Terry Bradway has stated he see's value at the QB position in this draft) - whether it's Wilson, Glennon, Barkley, Dysert, etc...

Cut Tebow, and tell Sanchez he can stay home for the rest of the year.

Let the rookie start, and if he doesn't show anything...
you draft your 1st round QB next year.

If we're rebuilding (which we are), then rebuild...

He seems to be starting to attract attention finally (unfortunately). I was hoping he would stay under the radar and the Jets could snag him with a low round pick.

The biggest issue with wilson is his hand size, his hands are 8 5/8th of an inch.

Standard "large" hands for an NFL QB are 10 inches. You can definitely be ok at 9 1/2 and higher, but when you get to 9 that is a problem (Vick has 9 inch hands and has had fumbling issues throughout his career.)

Well, wilson is smaller then 9 and even he runs less and is more careful with ball security, the problem will be gripping the ball well enough in the cold weather to be able to keep his velocity up.

Now he has a strong arm (plus is tough as hell) but will most likely struggle gripping the ball in the cold.

As a side note, Barkley has 10 inch hands and Nassib actually has 10 1/8 which should help both of them with grip and velocity in the cold.

Sanchez's 10 1/2 inch mitts haven't done anything to help his fumbling issues.

No joke, he could have 12 inch hands but if you have zero feel for the rush or down/spot on the field it doesnt matter.

Ball security can be fixed Im much more concerned with wilsons grip in cold weather.

He makes some really nice throws, but his last season was definitely a failure considering his hype and how people thought he might perform. There is certainly potential there, he could be a steal if you get him in the 3rd round or lower. One thing to watch is he had some injury issues last season

    +1
If someone is sitting there in the top of the 6th, they want to take a flyer, be my guest.
Otherwise, pick football players all the way through rounds 1-5

LOL. For this very reason, I laugh every time people bring up the size of a QB prospect's hands. Sanchez has big hands and seems to fumble the ball at least once a game.

Contrast that with Alex Smith who might have the smallest hands of any QB in the league yet he never turns the ball over.

Exactly. I understand it is a scout's job to scrutinize a prospect to death, but the hand size of QBs is kind of meaningless to me. I value arm strength, accuracy, intelligence (decision-making), and leadership abilities (the "I" word that Pennington made me grow to hate).

If a guy passes those, I don't give a f*ck about the size of their hands.

This guys hands are way smaller than Smiths

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/6...nds-your-dealt

Alex Smith's hands measure 9.375" long

8.5 makes this guy nearly undraftble.

He pressures himself to much and sometimes trys to do to much but he's the toughest Qb to enter the draft in 10 years.
I vote yes but I'm bias... so

I assume by once a game you mean once a sack, lol

he was a 4 year starter anyone know a good site to see how many times he fumbled each year? ... That should give us a good idea if there is any merit to his hand size being an issue in the NFL

Seems very dumb that this is not a stat tracked regularly along with int's ... Fumbles & fumbles lost

Best I can do is trying to find game by game stats ... If anyone has a more efficient site to get that info please post, thx!

Tyler Wilson fumbles / fumbles lost info

    2012

    vs jack st = 1/1

    vs ULM = 0/0

vs Bama = NA (Brandon Allen in at QB)

    vs Rutgers = 0/0

    vs Taxas A&M = 1/0

    vs Auburn = 0/0

    vs Kentucky = 0/0

    vs Ole Miss = 0/0

    vs Tulsa = 0/0

    vs South Carolina = 0/0

    vs Miss st = 0/0

    vs LSU = 0/0

    2012 total 2 fumbles 1 of them lost ... Hand size = Non-issue

What about the size of the ball from the college game to the pro game? Is the nfl ball larger which would make the college fumbling stats irrelivant?

    Hmmm I found this
    http://t.answers.com/answers/#!/entr...f68a84dcd7d799

It seems an nfl ball is smaller making it easier to throw.

There is no guarantee next year will be any better.

Last year, Barkley was being talked about as a potential top 10 pick. Now look at him.

Bridgewater could throw 16 INTs this year, Manziel could have a soph slump... or get broken in half. There are no Andrew Lucks in that class.

It's impossible for me to decide which one of 2013 QBs will turn into a solid professional, but the odds are at least one of them will.
