Geez. Enough with this stiff. This is really the 1st move Idzik has made that I question. But it might just come down to he doesnt have any bodies to fill the position right now.

A "defection" as reported by the media.

I'm fine with him coming back as cheap depth, but he should not be starting. We need to get younger and faster at the LB spots.

He is a good vet to team with Barnes and use in run situations. As long as we arent starting him I have no problem with it. At very least it is an upgrade over Sapp who I am shocked is still on this team.

As a $40 million player, Pace was trash.

As a guy making (presumably) less than $2 mil, he's a decent rotational player. Guess we'll have to see the number.

He better not start...he was awful last year. I am hoping this doesnt detract the fact that they draft a pass rusher early.

Rex will start him. He wants his veterans out there. First questionable move by Idzik in my view. Might mean we are not going OLB in first though.

Assuming this is structured right, we could also cut him in camp and not take a hit.

Also this continues to show they plan on going O strong in the draft. At this point all I can really see is a starting OLB as a solid draft need. DE depth maybe MLB or CB but none of those seem like dire needs right now.

He is not a starter any more he can be a situational player at a low cost.

Also I think that since he was $3,013,335 of dead money on the cap his current salary will offset the dead money and his salary will not affect the cap.

Those that are questioning this move would be the same guys wondering where Idzik was when a couple of LBers get hurt and we have zero depth.

And odds this move is costing us very little and we could always cut him if the young guys impress.
