thats him not only getting dominated by the line, but also the TE's. Look for #29, either getting put on the ground, 5 yards out of the play, or getting run over.
    But the sackz!!!

Did you actually watch this entire game?

Half the time Jones was getting double teamed...by the best OL in the country.

The whole game, and when the Bama decided to win, they ran at Jones almost every play and he couldn't stop it. And their was some double teams, but he was also getting dominated one on one against TE Michael Williams.

I just want to know what 3-4 OLB was drafted out of college with no question marks. Von miller? Orakpo?

    The whole game?

Then you should be familiar with him totally sh*tting on both D.J. Fluker and Eddie Lacy to strip sack McCarron in the first quarter.

A potential Top 15 pick OL and the consensus #1 RB in this draft...owned.

Is Jones strong against the run? No

I don't even think the biggest Jarvis Jones fan would say otherwise.

But you aren't drafting any of these edgerushers to be dominant run stoppers. You're drafting them to get after the QB.

And Jones does that better than any DE/OLB in this draft class.

Mingo is a guy who flashes here and there.

Sorry, not sold on Mingo at all.

Finnesse passrusher with limited production in college and relies strictly on his athleticism to get to the QB.

Doesn't use his hands very well to disengage and doesn't show much functional strength at all. Get your hands in his chest and he's rendered obsolete. Seemingly everytime I saw him face a highly regarded OL, he didn't sniff the backfield.

Joeckel and Matthews sh*t all over him in the A&M game.

I also find it hilarious how a lot of people knock Jarvis Jones for playing with upper echelon players on defense. LOL, as if Mingo didn't.

Jones is an awesome technician. Uses his hands better than any passrusher in the draft, is incredibly instinctive, and always seems to make the big play.

Could care less about his workout numbers. I'd take him over Mingo anyday of the week. Drafting the better athlete over the better football player is how you wind up taking Heyward-Bey over Michael Crabtree.

    #9 Chance Warmack

    #13 Jarvis Jones/Tyler Eifert

    Make it happen Izzy
agree with everything on mingo.....but the only guy i am scared to dfaft more than mingo is jones!!! NO WAY!!!!!

In college yes, but IMO his skill set does not translate to dominant NFL pass rusher, just doesn't have the athletic ability.

And whether you like Mingo or not, if you watch you will see he is great at setting the edge and containing these mobile QB's and corner turning RB's.

I just think mingo is way too much of a boom or bust pick and idzik is not going to take that kind of chance with his first pick as jets gm.....as non-sexy as the pick my be, i think he goes warmack or cooper and solidifies that o-line, which needs it...bad!! which is fine with me.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's Cooper or Warmack and would be happy if so, but I think Mingo is a real option for the Jets. It will be one of those three as a Jet next Thursday IMO if they don't trade out.

Also if by some miracle Jordan gets to 9, the Jets will have the card up in 2 secs.

    LOL ^^

you for real? JONES IS A PASS RUSHER. in fact, for a guy who's not known for his ability to stop the run, he wrapped up pretty good. Even after taking the hit. Don't fcking tell me he should shed a double team on 'bama's oline and make the tackle on a 1-cut play from Lacey. Garbage...

He's not von miller. we know that. he can decapitate a qb. we also know that.

    Mingo vs LSU... ghost.

This is hilarious! People here are actually trying to say that mingo is a better pass rusher than Jones?? If you don't trust Jones, for medical or other reasons, fine, but don't diddle my junior fiddle with this crap about Mingo being a more effective pass rusher.

Wrapped up pretty good? He looked a 12 year old trying to tackle Lacy at the 2:00 min mark.

And talking about Jones is getting pointless because I know their is no way the Jets will draft him in the first. If he is their in the second round, maybe.

how about every other time, like say - the first play? Way to reduce a man's career to one insignificant play that is probably the worst representative of how he played the game.

...hey, remember that time Jerry Rice dropped that ball? What an idiot! He was terrible at reverse double-z flats.

WOW, holy sh*t! better not draft him then. I puts on woody mask, ignores everything. Be the wrong.

    Strengths:
    Fabulous edge pass-rusher
    Fast off the edge
    Instincts
    Great pursuit linebacker
    Lives in the backfield
    Constant source of pass pressure
    Consistently produces splash plays
Excellent at stripping the ball out for forced fumbles
    Skilled at shedding blocks
Chases running backs down from the backside
    Has some pass-coverage potential
    Great motor
    Experience against double-teams
    Disruptive
Causes havoc behind the line of scrimmage
    Uses hands well
Can use his hands and feet at the same time
    Plays with good leverage
    Pad level
    Quickness
    Scheme versatility
Should be able to play immediately

    Weaknesses:
    Timed slow
    Needs to add strength
    Can miss some tackles
Can struggle with runs straight at him
Gee, sounds like a terrible fit for a team in need of PR specialist Woody.

Fair enough. And just think what Ansah would be... he's totally raw.

But you've gotten a reprieve from the Leprechauns. They've decide to reduce your tattoo from 51 and just make it a 6.
