A Top 15 pick as well as a 3rd rounder in 2014 for a CB coming off ACL surgery who was going to walk after this year anyway.

Again, why are people pissed about this?
Why is it guaranteed? They can have an arrangement with Revis to cut & resign, we get the 4th, and DR gets a new deal (with guarantees) after proving his health for a year.

We'd never payed him 16 millions a year. But I wished we got a 2nd rounder in '14 for him instead.

I said I would be happy with a 1st and 3rd and I am. Good value IMO I cant believe we talked them up that much. That is like twice the value of their original offer and they where the only bidder. lol

@AdamSchefter: Darrelle signed six-year, $96 million deal with Bucs. This year he will make $16 million. Makes $16 million each year. Ripped up old deal.
We could have afforded it, especially with the cap going up next year with the new TV contracts.

I think it became personal between Woody and Revis, and at that point it became a nasty divorce with no other options. The thing is, Woody want's me to pay $$,$$$$ a year with no hope of wins. I sure hope you are right and I am wrong.

At least my Isles, who have steadfastly refused to trade their young players for **** will now be dominant for the next 10 years.

I will take the 1st round pick in 2013 and the 4th in 2014 and Mevis blows out his knee.

    Not so sure about that.

It just has the appearance that the Jets got fleeced.

This was a great trade. We just scored a first round pick for an injured malcontent.

There's not much more a rebuilding team could ask for.

Because that's collusion and therefore illegal.

Plus another team could swoop with an even bigger offer.

Not to mention weren't the Bucs trying to give us a first round NEXT year, and Idzik was holding out for this year's first? And ---- he got it?

    Are you kidding me?

    Revis is a mercenary

You really think the Bucs would cut him and risk him signing with some team with $50+ million in cap space next year, all over the difference between a 3rd round pick and a 4th round pick?

    That's laughable

    Lipstick....meet pig.

that's a good way of looking at it but I would have liked another pick.

Idzik deserves no blame here, he did the best with the hand he was dealt.

For him, it will come down to what he drafts as a result.

Are we sure that's what happened? Then we should have complained about it and got a rule in place.

Plus if they have an agreement in place with a released free agent, that qualifies as collusion in my book.

Either way, the Bucs wouldn't risk another team swooping in.

Exactly. Revis, his agents, Uncle Sean would all salivate for that opportunity.

    Plus this.....

Meanwhile, New York is positioning itself well for the 2014, when the Jets are expected to receive four compensatory picks to go along with the Buccaneers' likely third-round choice, meaning the Jets will have a bounty of picks to try to turn around their roster.

This amazes me more then anything. The value on the chart of what TB offered wasnt half of what we got. It equaled like the 24 pick I think. We could very well trade down and get a 1st and 2nd or 2 1st out of it still. A top 16 pick is not easy to get and is unprecedented value on a CB trade.

I like the two early picks we can address the o and defense. No upfront money but uncle sean and mevis can be cut and not get nothing, but they can always hold out.......

Mevis fed the Jets for 40 million for 1.5 seasons played I usually side with the players but not on this one. 3 more yrs and he is holding out again or cut

@NFLSTROUD: The battle with the Jets was over three draft picks. The Bucs were only willing to give up two picks.
