Surprise! this is the we'd like tothank Rex for his time here but after our trade today of Revis to Tampa we are no longer seeing eye to eye so Rex & Revis are both moving on we thank them for their time here & a future coach will be announced inB-4 the draft.

    Gholston 2.0

Seriously, I like the deal. It helps speed the rebuilding and frees up cap room.

Now, they have to pick the right guy.

Idzik also says there was a "substantial" difference of opinion between the team and Revis on his value. #nyj

Idzik says Jets wanted to wait to see Revis' rehab from knee injury before trying to negotiate an extension.

Nothing. Zero. He lost me two years ago when he lost the team.

A man would have resigned after the Miami/Holmes/locker room debacle. Then, apologized to us Jet fans for coasting all year. And, finally, given Woody Johnson back the money he stole as his salary.

Building your team around a $16 million CB isn't either.

So, if you're the GM of the NYJ, you're paying Revis $16 million a year?

    - Idzik says the Jets shared Revis' desire to keep him a Jet, but it's not that simple.

Revis new contract = 6 years 96 million

I realize there is no "guaranteed money" but once he makes it through training camp, he has year 1 in the bank...

    damn

Rather harsh.I thought he did a good job last year keeping the team together, despite the tebow fiasco, and the disastrous play of Sanchez. If he didn't have control of the locker room there would have been a full scale mutiny.

You like Rex? Vaya con Dios.

I don't. I will count the days until he and Sanchez are gone.

So you would've rather kept Revis for one more year, which is bound to be a lackluster season, and then watched him leave for nothing more than a 3rd round comp pick?

We just got a Top 15 pick as well as a future 3rd for a corner coming off ACL surgery and asking for $16 million dollars a year.

Before the Harvin deal, I would've called you a f*cking goof if you told me we could get this kind of haul for Revis.

In what way did we drop the ball on this?

Thank God for the Bucs. They were literally the only suitor out there, bidding against themselves, and we still walk away with the 13th overall pick.

    I'm totally satisfied.
    Bingo!

Bottom line....he got a $10 million dollar raise this year

Next year he'll re-negotiate to save the Bucs cap space
